lol would be funny thought but image namco where thinking "Ok guys new game ideas please"
and japanese person said "people on GBATemp are translating our PSP game, these must be nintendo fans as we cant really read the site but there threads got quite a few views"
"well its settled gentlemen, the people want it ported to the 3DS"

and thus the 3DS version was born
Reminds me of that meme where that one guy comes up with a good idea and gets thrown out the window
Namco version: Gentlemen we need a new idea for our games guy 1:"re-releases of old games" girl 1: "ports" Guy 2:"why not just localize all our exclusive games?"........*is thrown out window*

Well I think if you're working for Namco Bandai you have somewhere that in your contract "If you have any idea that is potentially good and could make gamers happy, you hereby allow to be thrown out of the window" So I guess the guy had it coming :D

Bandai has a lot of games that can't be localised because it due to the expensive localisation costs, plus niche target audience for those games. SRW games for example, the games are awesome and have a huge fanbase in Japan, however localising those games to western markets would be too expensive due to all the different companies involved, besides that, there isn't a huge fanbase for those type of games for the western market, most people aren't interested or don't like it.

The cost they'd have from localising it, wouldn't be worth the money they could get from selling the game here, probably wouldn't cover the costs from the localisation of said game.

Oh please, most localizations I've seen from Bandai Namco sucked so much, they could'nt 've possibly been that expensive.
The Translations are mediocre at best, the Localization Process itself got better over the years, butt they use one standard on most games.
Moreover, lately they brought mostly ports and seriously they even screwed up those.

Let's simply take One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP, which was CUT in HALF for Europe Release because they didn't want to put the game on a bigger cartridge and the costs for that were too high.

So instead of getting at least a reasonable price cut on either of the games, they sell both to the standard retail price of a 3DS game, so you pay 2 get 1...
Then telling "the sales for one piece were too low, so we won't localize those games anymore" or sth similar.
Witty hypocrytes.

It is not like it is expensive at all, Bandai Namco is just that greedy.
They don't care about their fanbase, the more money the better. Things used to be better in the 90s :(

why dont they contact groups online and hire them then? :P
alot less cost, better motivation, plus they dont get frustrated by having all the data in a raw form rather than having to make there own tools

But then, Namco Bandai would care for their fans. As if they would spend resources on an announcement and looking for Online Contact Groups.
This involves costs , someone has to get paid for doing so, and in the end they bring a shitty port way easier and cheaper and continue making a fortune.

The problem isn't the translation costs, the major problem is what they would need to pay companies, in SRW alone, there's like 10 different companies involved, it's pretty much the same reason why a game like Jump Super Stars can't be localised, several companies own the rights to them, it's not as simple as just translating the game... They'd need to pay licensing fees to each and every company involved, if most of those companies had an European or American HQ, it'd become much easier and more plausible.

Bottom line, without groups like Digilation people are screwed :P :D

UPDATE:

I had some spare time today, so I just ran our Patch on Android on my Samsung Galaxy S. Although it was a bit slow, it was totally playble. Which is kinda cool, meaning that when our patch will be released the Emulator could actually be at a stage where it will emulate Redigitize on Phones,
so you could actually play Redigitize on your phone, which is face it guys, pretty cool.

I will provide screenshots of the Android test after exam.

well i'm pretty sure that jpcsp: java psp emulator is the best psp emulator it runs basically most games on java except for some exceptions, and at least digimon adventure and re:digitize runs pretty fine in my system.

JPCSP has the best compatibility so far (sure, it's a lot older that's normal) but PPSSPP already beats JPCSP in terms of performance though, so I'll say, for the moment JPCSP is better, but give some times to PPSSPP.

also, off topic I might add.

I got this far into your post and realized you are false.....but I will give you the benefit of the doubt. You may have been just quoting Bandai's excuse for:

(1) not localizing "good" games
(2) localizing "crappy" games
(a) Making half-assed localizations

that sucks., i hope never find them lol well the max time i played without stop in the few times i used it was like 3 hours, so i guess it wasn't enough to get those issues, but what really are those save issues, save file gets corrupted or something?
