I noticed something different, You know when you go to your pal pad for the japanese one and when you add a friend code and it ask to put someones name? Well in the pokemon hg/ss(j) It only ask you for 5 characters name, But in the english one is 7. I tried adding my friend named "Stephen" on my pokemon(j) version its only 5 characters. But in the english one its 7 characters. Thing is the english version of pokemon hg and ss freezes. So I have to use the jap one and patch it with english. Any Ideas?

Well, you have 2 options.

1. You could buy the game.

2. Maybe just call him "Steve" in your Pal Pad. Geez.

I think that's because Japanese characters are (like?) sounds/syllables.
So "S t e v e n" (6 letters) would be "St e ven" (3 characters)

Also I know many people don't mean it this way, but "Jap" is somewhat offensive.
If you don't want to type out Japanese, you should use either JP or (J).

True. People really shouldn't shorten it like that, unless they want to risk being branded as big a dick as Superman:

It actually IS because of the way the languages are written. With Japanese katakana and hiragana, syllables can be expressed with a single character. In addition, there's common kanji characters which can represent entire words in a single character. Because of this, Japanese Pokemon games don't need more than 5 characters for a name to be entered in its entirety.

For example:

The name "Michael" requires 7 characters in a US copy

The same name in Japanese, "Maikeru" would only require 4; Ma i ke ru

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
