Hacking Did I just make a bad choice?

So, I ordered an R4DS on Friday, September 5th. Ordered it from YallStore.com. Got it in the mail on Monday, September 8th. Bought a MicroSD card today, put v. 1.18 on the MicroSD card, stuck it in the R4DS card, turned on the DS. It went straight from the DS startup to a Loading screen (I have my DS set to Manual, but I assume this is a normal thing), on which it stays for a while. Now, either I'm very impatient and this takes a long time to load, or I just was stupid, failed to research, and just wasted $40.

Any tips/comments/flames/advice?

People who do things like this (sell fake items) do piss me off. Oh well.

They do, but authenticate R4s haven't been in production for months now.

I did research, I mean, I did read all of the reviews, and looked at prices, and decided that I wanted the R4, and the review didn't say anything about the current status of the R4, so I assumed it was okay, and I usually don't look at forums too much, so...

yeah. Oh well. Now I just want to rip the thing open. I think I shall go grab a screwdriver.

Eh, I'm bad at that sort of thing, I mean, I'd feel bad about doing that, and I wouldn't be able to get away with it with anyone I know personally.

Definitely one hell of a shocking choice, but if its of any comfort to you, it would appear you're by no means on your own (given the posts that keep cropping up on this forum by n00bs). The R4 has gone from being about the best to near worst in a mattter of months.

Well, looks like you have 3 choices:
1. Is it refundable?
2. Sell it off to a friend of a friend of a friend, etc. Like I said, all n00bs tend to know about are R4s (so not too much guilt).
3. If top two are unsuccessful, just get the sucker to work and live with it. My old (authentic) R4 loads in a couple of secs.

i have to ask......if u did research then why the hell would you buy an r4 when u can get a cyclods for 15 more on RHS???

Maybe he/she did research, saw Beve's super-duper "personally made custom firmware" post and thought MAN, THIS SHIT IS DA BEEZ NUTZ...I'm gonna suck 'em dry and this will make my R4 DA BESTEZ CART ON DA MARKET!
