I had just gotten a 3ds today, and I listened to someone on the irc on how to downgrade it. He told me to check to check if I had downgraded the system then to check https://gbatemp.net/threads/potential-reason-for-random-errors-on-n3ds-after-downgrading.410075/ from the log I got. After awhile, I had only two codes. 0004013000001B02 and 0004003000009E02. He told me to go into FBI and delete 0004013000001B02. I checked multiple times it was that one I deleted, then restarted, only to have a black screen but the power light on. The guy said he'd done it, and it worked and that multiple people did it and it worked. But I don't see how mine didn't. He claims I deleted the wrong one, but I checked carefully before I did it. Am I hard bricked? It wont even boot into recovery.

Update: Well I was lucky to get another one. I know I've learned a lesson of not trusting people.

I don't understand why he told you to remove the system module controlling the buttons (GPIO, afaik) :/ Else he was trolling you, or has no knowledge. Next time, use guides, such as Pailect's guide (Downgrade section).

Return the 3ds and try a safer method listed in the forum.

Will they even except it back?
If you bought it yesterday just argue until they agree to exchange or refund. Do not let them get away with selling you a bricked 3ds. Wink wink. Don't tell them what u did. Maybe they'll send it back to Nintendo and they will refresh it. Don't let them get away with telling you that u need to speak with Nintendo.

Try to exchange it for a new one, just claim when you turned it on it wouldn't do anything besides that. If you can't buy it.. Well, then you have a nice paperweight :D

What virus did infect your S7 Edge to advertise itself on each post?
My S7 Edge fortunately doesn't do that, but I should get care not to get infected as it looks horrible. /s

You listened to the guy but completely ignored the huge red warning on the thread he told you to check?

Next time, please be more careful while reading instructions and info, and follow Plailect's guide as everyone suggested. Also, since I assume it's a N3DS, do NOT forget to format it BEFORE downgrading it, even if it's a new system.

I hope you'll get an exchange easily!

True. You never know if I used the n3ds before I returned it to the store. formated it before gave it back as never opened. I've done that like 2x. I felt like a monst3r after...

Lol...all this talk about formatting before downgrading..... why? The 100+ consoles ive done with only 1 Franken firmware says there is no need....

Like literally, the link you have says "DON'T DELETE THESE TITLES, ETC. ETC."
Did you even read the guide?
I bet you just asked people around without even trying. LMAOOO.
I am sorry, but this is hilarious.

Do you mean format the sd? or the system? If the system, how?

Why do people think it's OK to brick their 3ds through their own stupidity then return it to the store for a new one? You wouldn't buy a car and drive it out the garage 10 mins later crash it and return it to the garage for an new one so why why is it OK to do it with electronic goods???

It's not, but neither is pirating. People do both anyway.
