I mean, it might not have all the bells, whistles, and eye candy that something like CFG Loader or Wiiflow has, but technically I think it would still count as a GUI since it isn't CLI, just (at this point) a very simplistic yet functional, no frills text based menu.

I can't even imagine CLI on the Wii. Oh god.
It's a UI, not a GUI.

Okay, you got me there, oversight on my part. But I still stand by the fact that a text based UI is going to be a hell of a lot better than nothing.

I know this was a joke but I actually would be very interested actually if you added support for the XBOX 360 USB controller for Wii, not only on GC games but even for Wii and Wiiware like on Dolphin XD
A long time ago I added support for wired xbox360 drums to Wii Rock Band 2 by remapping some USB stuff in IOS. The drums act the same as an xbox 360 controller (via a usb dongle) except they have no triggers.

So it is possible? O_O Man now I'm itching for this to happen XD

Is it theoretically possible to make the GC controller control the cursor in the Wii main menu? It's always been something that bugged me when playing a GC or VC game using a GC controller!

Instead of thinking of using XBox360 controls with the USB dongle and PS3 controls over Bluetooth, how about doing it the other way around and port Devolution to the PS3 to take advantage of it's PPC proc and just using Dolphin code to HLE the video hardware and stuff.

It sounds doable to me, anyway.

I speculate that people will b*tch about a missing GUI and start DV vs. DM debates :)

It's called Wii Bash. (Don't look inside the following spoiler if you don't want to cuss out loud)
It's also on the Homebrew Browser.

Additional controller support is great, but is it safe to assume that Devolution will also support Gamecube controllers?

If we're talking about alternate controllers, why not put a software controller on screen that you can push with your wiimote pointer?
JK

The Wii already has something similar, however you need to push the screen really hard with the wiimote. It shows you where you've pressed by drawing jagged lines on the screen. A noise will come from the screen, the harder you push the louder it is. However due to technical limitations, this only works on LED/LCD tv's and not CRT's or projectors.

It totally voids your tv's warranty though.

So what's the speculation so far for Gamecube saves?

Will games saves be using the USB or SD drive?

How about Warez loading? My GC games are old and some doesn't work anymore.

Any update when Devolution will be released?
Originally tueidj said he was targetting a completion date of sometime in May. But if you search the last few pages you'll notice I asked him a similar question and he replied that he got delayed because of catching strep throat. Anyways, I'd venture a guess that the earliest we'll see a release is late June. That being said, tueidj has every right to take his time and release it whenever he wants.

This question has been speculated upon many times throughout this thread. No one knows besides tueidj.

But I will say this, even if this does not work for you because of the problems that exist on your end, there is no need to fret about it because even if this software were to never get released or was never even known about then you'd still be in the same situation.

Either of them. A 16MB file is used instead of the memory card, the same way as in Dolphin (which also means you can use Dolphin's memory card manager to extract/insert individual save files). The code for it has been written and works with every game I've tested.
Originally I also planned to allow the memcard file to be stored on the NAND but due to changes in the latest HBC that probably won't happen.

TBH I think I'd prefer not having it stored on the NAND when it could be saved portably instead, but that's just my opinion.

Out of sheer curiosity, what changes were made to the latest HBC that impacts your ability to have the memcard file stored on the NAND? If you'd rather not get into it, it's cool, it's not like I'd actually be able to do anything with the information anyways, lol.
