Do you know where to find it please? I haven't been able to find it at all over the years, only source available is from the pc-side app, at least that I know of.
Here you go, I found the link on wiibrew.
http://dacotaco.com/...ditionv0_2b.zip
I'm not sure if the dacotaco addition is EXACTLY what you want but it's the source packaged here along with the DOL itself.

EDIT : and there's also this http://gbatemp.net/t...zero-savegames/ (Gamecube version 0.3a). The source is included in the download there as well.

You has killed me with laughter, offering his own work to author...
I think he refers to the original version for GC.
OH, WAIT ... I didn't notice that. Now I feel rather silly :shy:
@[member='suloku'], so why are you looking for GC source code if you had linked an updated GC version? Didn't you base THAT on the original source itself?
I think I'm missing something here.

The version he uses is based on the tueidj's mod, which is based on the daco's mod.
And I think that none have the original sources of GC version.
What happens is that the Homebrew behaves differently in GC mode in this case I think it have no problems with the official cards and I think that's why he wants the source of that version, but I not sure.

I think I'm missing something here.

Original ctr-gcs worked over BBA, with a client runing on GC and actual operations managed from the pc end. It has no problems on restoring raw images to oficial cards, which is the problem we face: even in gc mode I haven't been able to write a raw image. That's why I asked for its source

Looking at dacotaco's source I think he only borrowed the name (as the aplication serves the same purpose), but actual code I think it's directly adapted from libogc functions and GCI documentation, or maybe mcbackup or any other "old" memory card utility.

The only two applications I know to correctly work with memory cards are ctr-gcs (over BBA) and softdev's sdmc, which AFAIK both source's (on gamecube side) are unavailable.

You may now understand why I asked about homebrew support on devolution (ctr-gcs + wifi = win). Of course another option is to use sdmc and gamecube homebrew launcher, but that requires a patched MIOS and sdgecko, and I'd really like to see an open source fully working memory card aplication on wii/gamecube (or one that can at least dump and restore raw images to both official and non oficial cards, we can always mangle with them with dolphin's memory card manager)

BTW EmuKidid's swiss also has memory card support, but raw images aren't implemented and I tried it and found it to be a little buggy.

Your are wrong, it also fails in gamecube mode, there's something aside from unlocking official cards that's buggy (maybe the sramex bug in libogc is the source of it all?)
This bug may also have been in GCMM all along, but as official cards weren't working little people may have noticed, including myself when testing, because to truly test a gci restore it has to be a diferent card or the same card zeroed (this is another thing about oficial cards, if you write a 00 byte it IS written to the card.

But this is going to far away from the main topic, I'll wait for tueidj's response and see if he knows about original's ctr-gcs source (or maybe he knows Cowtrobo, the author, wich may also help)

I suggest getting an official card yourself and figuring out what's really going on rather than heading off on a wild goose chase. People have been making various claims about what memory card managers work/fail with official cards and which programs work/fail in wii mode for years, and from what I can tell none of them really know what they're talking about:
- libogc has always read/written the wrong bytes in the SRAM for the flash id checksum, making it impossible for the "unlock using the system menu" trick to work with official cards in slot B and causing issues when a card is already unlocked (affects both wii and gamecube homebrew).
- up until I provided the fix for unlocking in wii mode, it was impossible for any homebrew program running in wii mode to unlock an official card no matter what anybody claims to have experienced.

I do have official memory cards, but I don't know what else to try on the matter, but anyway, this is not the apropiate thread to discuss the topic.

@tueidj, I just wanted to say Thanks again for all your hard work and everything you've done to make Devolution possible. I can't wait to see what you got in mind for future releases and no matter what, keep it up. :grog:

So I finally got my XGIII disc (bought another ACCLAIM game also for testing but I know personally at least 4 of theirs that have worked) and as other people validated, it doesn't work for me. It just rebooted back to HBC, I doubt you need another log for this tueidj , but in case - I own this title now (played it from Disc Channel, not missing much ;) )

My cleanrip info from my disc.

Interesting.... I figured that there was a high probability that others would encounter the same problem. We know that XGIII works in the program, so whatever is stopping verification has to be something to do with how Devolution verifies the disc (because the game data on the disc is not any different if there was only one version released). I'm curious to know what is different about these particular discs that leads to the failure. I'm thinking perhaps they are physically different in some way and may have some different security code on them that is not part of the game data. That said, I suspect that if it is fixed, we probably won't hear the details....

Do you know anyone else who owns XGIII? Would be good to try that, as another copy may work.

I'm pretty sure that there are two different versions of the game
or that something in the SD-HDD is interfering with his security (I think is this).

And obviously tueidj's not going to say his secret :glare:

r135 is now up.
- add dial-up server for l33tserv (phone number "3")
- fix audio for Crash Nitro Kart
- add version string to beginning of log
- disable gecko output when other EXI device is in use, fixes a freeze when wifi initialization finishes while reading RTC
- use DNS lookup for dial-up servers instead of a hardcoded IP

Some new logs for Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix and Lego Star Wars The Video Game (both USA). They both load to black screens and I have to press Power to go back to the HBC. I added them to the Compatibility List but here they are as well.

EDIT:
Just checked Pokemon XD again on r135 and it freezes at the Health Warning (or the Nintendo Logo if your quick enough to press a button). It doesn't let you reset the game or return to HBC. Here's the log: (It's got a few more lines than the previous log for some reason.)

My Seagate free agent goFlex is without a doubt my problem. I'm getting a new drive. Suggestions? Should I be staying away from USB 3.0? I found another post addressing this drive as being problematic with Wii usage. Should I look at Western Digital?

- disable gecko output when other EXI device is in use, fixes a freeze when wifi initialization finishes while reading RTC
Thanks for this rev, I suppose that change fixes the freeze with a gecko inserted while verifying a disc here, log seems to be fine now and game also boots after that just fine :)

I already asked that question, but I think it was overlooked so I ask it again:

Is it possible to add a widescreen fix to Devolution and if so, do you consider it?

Also, are you not interested in Fixing F-Zero and Mario Sunshine or is it due to the lack of a disc? If so, I could send you mine?

I'm assuming you're using http://en.wikipedia....nd_16:9_support as a reference for games that support widescreen? Remember you can't just enable widescreen on everything. If those games work in widescreen mode already there's nothing more to do. You could end up with textures issues trying to force a game to go beyond what was intended. There is no real "fix" for those games that don't support it.

tueidj mentioned that Super Mario Sunshine was poorly coded and it may just stop working all on it's own regardless of what fix he implements. F-Zero could be in the same boat.

i meant making 4/3 games to 16/9 like dolphin does on some games^^

by the way, i just realized if you press Up on the dpad in zelda wind waker to view the map, the game gets slow and error-y. if you return to the game, the alpha channels are all broken and light shows through all geometry. map screen does not work. no problems in twilight princess though (same engine)

I've been using a 1TB Toshiba 3.0 and I ain't had a problem with it yet..
