Not in this case. I guess I have a bug in the code I'm using for Postloader. I'll check into it. I'll report back in a minute with the sample loader.

Edit: Yeah, it works with the sample loader. Sorry for the false alarm.

Edit: ..come to think of it, I wonder if the app file from DIOS MIOS could be executed in the same way as Devolution. Hmm..
I think it can, but it's not meant to be run in the faster Wii mode.
I will now dredge up this video again of the MIOS being called in Wii mode.

you can see the extra speed and note the scratch noise so it's doable but with some side effects.
that answered my question but will both keep being updated or is one going to get more attention?
I'm sure one or the other will get at least a little bit of attention (they're programmed by two completely different people) but it would be difficult to tell which at this point.

with some games i get green screen with dios mios, i understand this may be a region issue but i have other games that work from other regions! do you think theyd be worth trying with devolution?

I'm not trying to crack it, but if that was the case, then I have a suggestion. Why not have Devolution check for the matching original disc from any region, so people who have import discs don't have to then buy local copies of the same games?
Why would you need to buy a local copy of the game if you already own an import copy?

Because wouldn't a PAL game want to display PAL, which may not display correctly on older NTSC TV's? This way, the user can use a native region ISO with the import disc he has.

Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & 2 NTSC(not plus version):Works: The game boots and works fine after having redumped my ISO.

Phantasy Star Online Episode III: CARD Revolution NTSC: Works: The game worked first try.

Nevermind Audio Streaming and Disc Switching, this ALONE impresses the shit outta me.

So is this project aimed at users with newer wiis that can't play Gamecube games or am I missing something?

If nothing else, it can close the gap of audio streaming games not being able to be played properly on anything else, pretty much making things like WODE obsolete. DM + devolution can surely play just about every Gamecube game out there.

It's too bad I can't quote a locked thread so I'll link to the page with the post.

[member='tueidj'] seemed to insinuate there were other ways to validate a disk, possibly through an external USB DVD drive.

People thought GameCube on USB was impossible. If this sounds impossible to you, too, leave it to a genius like [member='tueidj'] to figure it out. I'm sure he can handle it.

EDIT : I don't remember where people got the idea about the broken drive thing but I do kinda think it was mentioned at some point but when he first announced this project he did mention new model Wiis as one of the reasons why he was making it.

AP or no AP, Honestly any step forward is a good for everyone. Once Devolution reaches all of it's goals I'm not sure really else that can be done with the wii.

A hint for the people incorporating loader.bin into other applications: if you load it from storage rather than having it statically linked, make sure it's in physical memory and not the cpu cache before executing it (use DCFlushRange).

If you can come up with an idea for an AP that doesnt involve buying/using an external drive let me know, because i am not going to spend money buying an external hard drive (I could fix my wii drive with that money)

Awesomesauce, will have to check this out. If anyone tested that GC zoid game I'll have to scour amazon and ebay for it :D

A lot of times you can connect the DVD drive you have in your computer to the enclosure or adapter you'd already be using for your hard drive but I still guess that would still limit it to those who already had such a drive but even then, the post I linked to was in response to someone else wanting to verify it on a PC before connecting the hard drive to the Wii again.

I don't know exactly how he'd do it but I'm sure he could think of something.

Where do I put the folders on my usb drive? I know to put gc_devo (download link 1) in the apps folder. But where do I put the second gc_devo (download link 2)? And where do gamecube isos go?
