Just curious, are you able\willing to share your plans to eventually support the horizontal Wii's (i.e. how to verify images without being able to read GC discs)? Is it safe to assume that users would need to verify the games on an older model Wii before being able to play them on a horizontal Wii? Thanks again dude.

@mods,
I think this thread needs to be stickied :D

Indeed devolution is easy to integrate into other loaders, thanks tueidj for giving us that possibility!
If somebody wants to try it in wiiflow here you go:
http://www.mediafire...3nb25n8oob2lsd9
Just copy the loader.bin from the devolution source into your wiiflow folder on device root and play the games via devolution, wiiflow will auto detect the file ;) That doesnt work with games extracted via gcreex though, wiiflow will boot them via diosmios regulary.

Downloaded the new SVN and put loader.bin in /sd:/wiiflow/, but I can't access my Gamecube games, if I try to access them through the source menu I get '**DISABLED**'.

Just open up your wiiflow.ini and set always_show_button in [DML] section to yes ;)

Just tried it without diosmios installed and it works fine as well via source menu and via the gamecube button you have down right.

I keep getting a "Game ID: 000000000" message I'm sure thats more zero's than it was showing but you get the idea lol, also I did the loader.bin thing, I placed it on the root of my Wiiflow mod folder and now all my games crash when i try to load them gives me the DSI error screen any ideas how to fix this guys :)

Could you give us a pic of that error? Oh and you placed it in device:/wiiflow and not device:/apps/wiiflow?

I wonder if both dios mios and devolution can be implemented into usb loader gx and have it prompt when you click a game which one you want to use.

Thanks tueidj. Nice work!

Star Fox Adventures runs well with no obvious problems. I'm guessing that you likely spent a lot of time with this particular game, due to the challenges of audio streaming. Glad you were able to figure out audio streaming - it's been quite a bugbear. Devolution would not load the saved game from my real GC memory card and reported that the card was corrupted (I assume that the emulated memory card must be virtually formatted before it works correctly). Guess I'll have to wait for a loader which disables the emulated memory card, or offers an option for enable/disable.

Before running SFA, I also tried F-Zero GX and the Wii had difficulty recognizing the Gamecube controller. Once I was able to select interlace mode (using component cable on 480i television), the game hung as it would not accept button presses for formatting the virtual memory card. Will try again not that it has been formatted by SFA.

Just popping by to write up a little post of my experience with Devolution. I did use Superdump a couple of years ago to create 1:1 rips of my gamecube games and they've been sitting on my HDD ever since. Verifying the ISOs is no hassle although it's a shame that half my GC isos belonged to my cousin who probably sold them. The first game I tried out was Eternal Darkness which I heard was the one with audio streaming problem. After it loaded up and I could hear the audio for the poem, I thought it was going to be alright but then I got hit with a "memory card is corrupted, please format" message.

I ignored this and tried the same with Ikaruga. Once again, I got the "memory card needs formatting" message so I just clicked no and carried on but I can say that the game played great and I got halfway through the first stage without any problem.

Third game I tried was Super Smash Bros. Melee. Once again, the "memory card is corrupted" message appears again so I decided to test my SSBM iso rip it with Dios Mios and this time, it plays perfectly WITHOUT an error message and it shows up all my unlocked characters. I'm not sure what's going on the memory card but I really hope it's not because a save generated from one GC loader means it won't be compatible with the other because about 90% of the GC saves came from my GC which has a Viper Extreme chip added to it and that DM loaded those without any problem.

A real shame that PAL gamecube games don't have progressive scanning.

Edit: D'oh,Wiimodsrome posted the same problem.

Awesome! Thanks tueidj!

Prepare for a lot of complaints about having to use original disks to verify games though. And to be frank it does make the loader a bit useless as it HAS to be a cleanrip.
A working USB & SD loader for GC games is "useless"? Strange.
What I meant is that since this program is used for backup purposes the only reason you'd use this loader for the so to be Wiimote support or if your game is scratched and/or doesn't work properly, but if that's the case then how can you be sure cleanrip won't have problems ripping the game? This is a fantastic leap for the Wii scene! I'm just saying the anti-piracy is flawed at the moment, and that I'm excited to see what comes out of it in the future.

As stated in the first post, the sample loader ALWAYS uses memory card emulation for slot A. The games are asking you to format the card because as far as they can tell, it's a brand new blank card (which is actually a file on the USB or SD device).
