Hacking Devolution issue, classic controller pro R and L not working

All the buttons work fine except the L and R buttons, but only for like 5 minutes. after that time they just stop working, but everything else is fine.. I have to restart devolution to fix them

any ways to fix this?

EDIT: figured out my issue, apparently the L button (not LZ, the small one) toggles the trigger buttons from working
