Was not talking about the fashion, but about what a corset, garterbelt, etc... represents in the present day imaginary. If these characters are not lolitas for you, well, it's a point of view, that I respect. But you cannot say that putting garterbelts on girls is not sexualization. I give up on corsets (even if the main goal of a corset is to look good, usually for a man since that thing is really not comfortable), maybe it's me and my dirty mind, but garterbelts ? Honest question btw, I would really love to have a debate about at what point we can consider a character a lolita.
But back to loli/lolita/fashion loli. What are your definitions of those terms ? For me :
- Lolita : over-sexualized young girl, refers to the "Lolita" book
- Loli : something that has lolitas in it
- Lolita fashion : a fashion style that mixes old and young fashion, also refers to the "Lolita" book because it plays on young (or young looking) girls wearing old fashioned victorian clothes, which are associated with sex today (victorian era was pretty much the time when we defined how genders should look, very interesting era tbh)
So for me, young girls in corsets and garterbelts, when it's not needed, is "lolifying". But again, only my point of view and I would gladly discuss it.
