I like the game Go a lot, so hopefully this is translated. Actually I like Go-moku or whatever better, but regular Go is still fun.

I thought it was a new game so I freaked out when I saw it, but since its a demo of the First game, it reversed my mood totally.

But at least the game itself is good, rather then picking this up, you might want to get yourself the real game dumped long ago.

Otherwise, yea. The manga made me interested in the game, but I didn't get very strong (15 k or so ) before I stopped temporarily to study.

They dumped a demo. They must have been really bored and itching to dump something.

"Taikenban" just means demo. Nothing special.

To real game-collectors these things have a lot higher value than normal retail-games. They are limited and harder to get your hands on. So it IS something special. Kiosk Demos have been dumped a lot in the N64-scene for instance. And a KD isn't nessecarily limited in comparison to the real game. So this definitely is one for the collection.

If it was the original then yeah. If it's just a dump like this that anyone can get their hands on then no.

I still like Anime a lot but most of the time I'm going back on some old Anime I watched as a kid that I never finished on like Rumiko Takahashi's classic series Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2 or something like GS Mikami. They translated the title for Urusei Yatsura as "Those Obnoxious Aliens" but now I know what it really means

The dump doesn't have a value, but it's still a special game you would probably never have seen without a dump. Only 555 copies of this one exist.

Go is said to have been invented in China over 4000 years ago. The version of Chess in Japan is a game called Shogi (or Shougi). There are 75 Episodes in the Series Hikaru no Go, and 3 special Episodes. I have the complete English Fansubbed Series in AVI format. The show is awesome.

Yeah, Rie knows how to play Shogi and I need to ask her to teach me, but she's not too good at go. I should get a board from ebay and practice...

I think you all are getting a little lost in the chess analogy - it's supposed to be a general idea of what the game is like, not a perfect analogy in terms of play or anything.
