I imagine DX buys huge quantities of everything they sell or work out a deal with the manufacturer. Because this price is above Team Cyclop's wholesale price. So if 2 companies want to make $1000, something smaller scale like dealwoot would have to price their stuff higher, but in China, shipping costs are lower, shipping from the manufacturer to their storage is cheaper as they are both in China, shipping to us is lower because DX ships so many things they must have some sort of deal with the postal companies, and because they buy at huge masses they can price them cheaper. Not to mention that DX's policy is to price things as low as they can, making only a dollar or two on each item max.

I guess thats a good way of proffiting...Even though they profit only a1-2$ per product...lol.

Selling 1000 items and making $1-2 off each is the same as selling 100 items and making $10 off each, also when their suppliers need to clear out old stock etc to make more room, DX will most likely get the stuff @ very low prices, if not free.

Edit - btw anyones status changed ? My order has the "pending" and date removed, hopefully i'll get an email saying its been shipped by monday

I had one in my cart the other day, and ALLLLMOST pushed that "purchase" button.

But if there's one thing the internet has taught me, it's that deals that look too good to be true, usually are.

There's a pretty good chance that DX COULD have been selling them for cheap and TeamCyclo told them not to undercut the competition...or it's equally likely they simply had an initial low price to attract attention. But even odds are that there's something fishy going on, so I chose to wait it out.

Maybe I'll get one from RHS some other time -- I'm not in any hurry or anything, and personally I'd rather be cautious and 40$ richer than risk making a mistake on a bootleg/clone/scam.

To those of you who worried it might be too good to be true and that they were fake etc., now you know there is a second scenario: it can either be very good but untrue, or be very good AND NOT LAST LONG.

well now its not that bad
because some people (like me) will pay a few bucks extra (only about 7 or so) for good shipping.
RHS's original price is 53$ i think, plus shipping would be 60, minus some coupon thing would equal to 57$
so i guess they did make it a lot more less competition. plus, dealwoot is having free shipping for their cyclos so its about 54$
