Hardware Dead ps3 USB port help

Hi so i bought a ps3 and as far as i knew the only problem was that it went to the main screen, but it didnt load apps/games. So i get it today and the usb ports dont recognize anything. I tried official controllers and cables that work on my main ps3. Can anyone help with this?

Was looking around and found this ( http://community.us.playstation.com...S3-USB-Ports-Not-Working/td-p/15435791/page/6 )( scroll down to part with pic) and im gonna try this tomorrow morning if my motherboard looks like this.

well thx to all who helped.....me. but i solved this problem on my own, got a 10$ partial refund on the system( so i only spent 28$ total for it), and got it working so im set.
