Hello, I am planning on buying a 2ds XL and I wanted to transfer the data from my o3ds to it. I have Luma CFW installed on the o3ds through ntrboot (I have the flashcart so I can install CFW on the 2dsXL once I buy it if necessary) but I cannot find a guide on transferring the save data, games and homebrew apps from an older device to a newer one. Is there a method available, or should I just individually transfer the save data and download the games and apps again?

get homebrew on the new 2ds then copy the files from your old 3ds sd card to the new 2ds micro sd.
He has to do a system transfer or manually extract the saves. The saves are encrypted per console. So the new system wont read the files unless thats done

The normal 3ds games will. but needs tickets reinstated. Homebrew itself will need to be reinstalled.
I can reinstall CFW and download the games and apps individually again, I'm trying to understand how to transfer the saves. I was watching a video where the guy was using save backups and Checkpoint. Basically you make sure to have all the games and at least launched them once to backup them using Checkpoint (Or any other save manager, I'm just using Checkpoint because I already have it installed.) Just backup the save file of you game using Checkpoint on the original device and copy paste that into the backup folder of that game in Checkpoint on the target device. Afterwards, go to Checkpoint on the target device and restore the backup. You should have, in theory, successfully cloned your save file now. haven't tested this yet, but will do it as soon as I get the 2dsXL. I'll keep you posted.
