Hardware D2Pro9 dumping out of Sonic game while in play

I have a handful of games pro burned by local, on Verbatim DVD-R. All started up and worked fine (except Brawl - white screen lockup). Sonic Unleashed started and played fine. Got all through tutorials and as soon as first level was done, screen went black and error popped up. "Disk could not be read, power off Wii and eject disk, power back on". Starts back up fine, but intermittently doesn't show the disc at the home screen.

Is this just a common intermittent issue? Anything I can do to try and make it better?

Seems like a bad burn to me, I'd try reburning it.

I'll give that a try. I found that if I just turn the Wii off and back on the game will play fine, then an hour later give a read error. So far, just this game, but others come up as unrecognized from the home screen until I restart the Wii.
