D2Pro has much versatile update mechanism, you can flash the whole chip... but no such serious updates are released... after all this huge softmod craze it doesn't make much sense to differentiate these two...

And by solderless you are possibly talking about a clip solution... better solderless solutions exists like flatmii's new version and drivekey though they are limited to 3x dvd reading...

by the way this should possibly be in hardware section
