No. They are not "Easily detectable" If you can even tell me how they were detected with SMG, you could work out why you're wrong.
I don't say they are 'easily detectable'... but that are '
relatively easy detectable', and that's whole of a world difference.
To answer your question: I don't know the exact reason why the Wiikey got detected, but fact is that the D2Ckey (and other D2C-modchips) do NOT get detected by games like Super Mario Galaxy. In fact the D2C-modchips are the only chips that did not require any updates since they are still undetected. The exact reason is not clear, but the developers say that it has to do with the placement of the chip within the Wii system.
The 'old' D2B-modchips like Wiikey use the RAM memory of the Wii, which makes it easier to update them (by DVD) but easier to detect by Nintendo. The newer D2C-chipsets do NOT use that RAM memory of the Wii. This results in the fact that they are harder to update since you have to work with external programmers instead of DVD-updates, but they are also less visible for Nintendo's security.
