I've been able to change the /etc/mplayer.conf file to automatically turn on vsync on boot up, but I can't find where to stop the subtitles from auto-loading. I can easily turn them off through the menu before playing a movie, but in the case where the movie is split into 2 files, the subtitles autoload once the second movie file loads and it would be much more convenient if they would just start off as nonvisible.
