I currently have one Custom DS.

Backstory of this is my 4 Year old Son had a Cobalt DS, it stopped charging, and my 8 Year old Daughter had a Coral Pink DS, and it was actually dropped into a 'water source' (read: Toilet) by my 2 year old son. The screens on the Pink DS were pretty much destroyed, but everything else was fine.

So I took the 2 DS's apart, cleaned and dried all of the wet parts, and took the screens from the DS that stopped charging, and put everything back together. Doing a little color swapping at the same time.

Below are some Photos of the DS. Let me know what you think.

I posted the pics as Links because they are pretty high resolution photos, and I didn't have a chance to reduce them, and I'm not sure if the posting system will automatically reduce the size of the images or not...

LOL

I hate cars like that, but I like this DS...

I think that the Pink should have always had Black buttons and black Rim around the screen.

You have a wire exposing through the handstrap part of the DS. I would fix that if I were you.

Looks like the Microphone wire, or even the WiFi antenna.

That's not a wire,
That's just seeing part of the pink casing visible in contrast to the black Casing.

the Microphone and WiFi go through the channel between the hinges.

Okay, go with that.

Actually, he's correct, that isn't any kind of wire, if you look at your NDS at that angle, you'll see part of the inner case..
I see transparent plastic at mine, and mine case is white from the outside, and transparent from the inside!

Alright, you're right.

It is a piece of casing. Sorry for the mistake.

After doing several mods to my DS, which involved taking it apart, a few times the Microphone wire has got stuck under the casing near the game slot.

So I got confused.

They should sell a special edition like that, well that concept, different colours for different parts of the DS.

i did my cousins ds like that besides i used white casing and black (mines clear just so its better than his lol)

I actually plan on modifying my Phat once my black shell comes in. I just got so fancied by how cool the guy on DealExtreme had a blue LED, that now I want a blue LED. So when I can find a site that I can trust that sells 0603 LEDs I'll buy 'em, ask my friend for his soldering iron, and get me a blue LED. Maybe just switch the LEDs around instead.. red for good, orange for low, and green for charging.

Whatever, I wanna change LEDs.

I was also considering making my DS an oreo, but now that I think about it it'd just look bleh.

I definitely enjoy making mods to DS's

I found a link to SCdev talking about DS's that won't turn on, and won't charge, so that sounds like the original issue with the Cobalt DS. Apparently there are 2 fuses on the CPU board that may need to be replaced, or bypassed, and that board may start working again, At that point, I would just have to buy the 2 screens, and I would have another color Mismatched DS.

Question: Does anyone know a good place for me to get 0603 LEDs? Not in packs and stuff,, I mean just one or two for really cheap. I find a lot of sites but I don't trust any of them yet.
