The content.xml file and partition1 structure (apart from mine only has 1 ABBA song in it) looks the same so not sure what it is going on there.

Maybe it's the key.bin I am using when I put the new partition back into the ISO ? Or doesn't it get encrypted on it's way back in ?

Ups, sorry for my repetead posts...

May be a problem with PAL format on your Wii (video mode is another black/reen screen 'generator')

Is your Wii NTSC, isn't? Have you covert from PAL?

About key.bin a lot of software use it and I've always downloaded searching in Google. Untill the moment any problem.
I'll upload too

Wii is a PAL wii so that shouldn't be a problem (Singstar ABBA and Disney Sing It are both PAL as well).

I'll start again from scratch later and see if it works that way

I've been having the same problems as Adam Brunt. Just to experiment, I took Disney Sing it and used to CreaContent to delete the songs in the game. I then used partition builder as per instructions. However, when I used wii scrubber to put the partition back in still says partition 1 (bad), and has an invalid header. keep in mind I did not make any changes to titles or ID's anywhere. Just took Disney Sing It apart, took out the songs and put it back together again. Any advice. Anyone else have the same problems?

Reading EOL posts about, it seems that partitionbuilder 1.0 doesn´t work with Wiiscrubber 1.4, and create BAD partition. Check you are not using this versions.

For wiiscrubber 1.4, Partitionbuilder 1.1 (http://www.mediafire.com/file/jzzzyjt2zm2 ) or 1.2 are needed

Sorry, I didnt mention because I didn´t know! (by chance I use 1.1 + 1.4 )

Good spot.

I was using PartitionBuilder v1.0. Will rebuild with v1.1

EDIT: Currently loading Partition1.img into the ISO ... here's hoping this doesn't finish as BAD again

EDIT: Fantastic ... DATA (0) (Sing It ABBA)

Well it works ... in the main.

All the songs play fine and appear in the menu fine (complete with intros and stuff) but ... when the game start there's some crazy save game stuff going on (the first time I ran it it mentioned storage devices having changed ??!!??) and at times the menu screens have something about the dual analog controller not being connected ??

But at the moment, my daughter will be able to live with that

Thanks for all the fergambo.

Now to track down a Queen Singstar disc.

Yes, there're some 'flashes' in game (lost wiimote connection and others) only msec., but works perferctly.

if an important change has to be done in the game, remember erase the saved file in the Wii previously to try again, to avoid Wii freezes when try to save and detect a different structure in the game and saved file contents.
This is not necessary to little corrections: title, name songs or artists in a finished iso (the only you'll have to rebuild partition and load to the iso again)

But the most important for me: the first custom seems a very difficult work, but when is completed, the next ones are getting easier and easier... The really hard part (convert video) needs time but is done automatically in a batch list.

As you see Ultrastar song format contains the whole song for an artist. Now you'll have to sing the complete song. But Sing it is prepared to sing only a part1 or part2 too, so can be customized for one song part, or one artist.
Singstar song files (melody's.xml) contain additional info about which parts is sung for each player
What it's in developing is a creacontent version that extract and convert automatically this information to Sing It.
So I've not erased the melody's.xml song files (are little size files)

Well, that's enought! Enjoy

is it possible to do this on a mac?
Really I don't know if this is possible in a mac and if the're tools available...

Yes, as I say ... the majority of it works fine. It's just small little niggly stuff which doesn't make the game unplayable.

Although (and this could be the ISO I used to start with), when I quit a song then I can only continue if I click the "High School Musical 3 theme/template" button ??

On the subject of how much of the song you have to sing ... when I tested it last night, I chose the backing vocals part for one song and I didn't have to sing all the words - just the backing vocals bits.

I don't know if I explain well: In the original 'Sing It' there're multiplayer game modes, so when you're clicking to choose the song, the midle of the bar song is green and the other violet.

It means that, besides of you choose sing the leading or backing vocal part, for the same chosen song
you'd sing the MIDLE OF THE SONG (PART1) as PLAYER 1, and the player 2 the second midle part.

This is an option of Singstar when you play, you can choose between sing the whole song, or only one part to make the game faster.

By the way, backing voice of 'Take A Chance on Me' can produce asphyxia!!

I used for the custom the Disney Sing It (ID: RUIP4Q) and I have not any problem when quit

I followed this guide (and translated it in french with printscreens too).

It is working very well too !

For some of you who had the question, for the number of songs in the game, I suggest you to not go over 49 songs. Also, it is possible to add custom songs made for UltraStar with a video downloaded somewhere. It's a lot more of a job but I was able to add Billy Talent - Surrender, Michael Jackson - Billie Jean and Green Day - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams to one of my discs.

For my tests, i'm using a NTSC Wii and an NTSC version of Sing It. All my Singstar are NTSC too except SingStar ABBA but the extraction goes well and conversion to Bink! too because the number of frames per seconds and 640x448 are the same things in North American.

I only have one question... How can you make the game continue the song until the end of the video and not stop right after the last word ?

I will be trying to modify the 3 xml files. By exemple :
END_SONG
The real end of the song is not at 223.766 but at 245.180 so I guess that if you modify the two numbers, the song will continue until the end and not stop after the last word ?

Any clue out there ? Thanks !

Okay I juste understand something. You must extract the sound of the resulting BIK file to WAV and check with audacity (or another software) it's duration in seconds. You will see at the lower part of the software something like : 244.086916.

So, when you have the duration of your song in seconds and milliseconds, you can enter it when Creacontent ask you the "Duracion de la Cancion" when it's time to convert the Singstar txt file into XML file. So, that way, creacontent will enter the full lenght of the song and it will not cut right after the last word.

Well, the easiest way to see the length of the song, is the windows folder where song was extracted:
In detailed view, add the column 'length' and you'll see the length for .mp3 and .avi files
