Hacking Custom IOS38 rev 14

Thanks for trying to help WiiPower , but i have gone back to 13a and everything works fine now...

I cant see how this can be a problem with my old modchip if 13a works but 14 doesnt, i will wait and see if any new revisions of 14 come out and then try them, but it looks like i will be sticking with 13a and NeoGamma. Seems more like a problem with 14 and maybe a new feature that was either added or removed from 13 that is somehow conflicting with the modchip maybe...

I used to remove the 001 and 002 errors from all my iso's with the patcher, as well as the updates, but i was told on here that definitely for the newer games , the iso needs to be untouched, so i dont think i will ever be able to play a backup via the disc channel ever again....but cant have everything

, all my games now work so i am happy sticking with 13a

001 error == the game reads data "behind" the disc. cIOSrev14 tries to detect if a disc is single layer or layer layer and gives the correct errors then. If your modchip results in 001 in unpatched games from disc channel, the cIOS - modchip combo can't detect the disc type. I doubt that will be fixed, but you don't need that fixed, usb loading should work fine for you, and for discs you have latest Gecko OS and my Gecko OS mod.

Thanks for taking the time in explaining it to me, i think using a USB drive is something i will def look into as it seems to be the way to go, but for now, your NeoGamma with rev13a is all i need

To anyone who is waiting for rev14b or rev 15 dont hold your breath because waninkoko stated that rev14 will be his last cIOS and i highly doubt unless there are serious errors in 14 (which there arent to anyones knowledge yet) there wont be one at least for a very long time. if that at all

I thought it was already determined that's not true

Show me otherwise.

i have rev13b installed 249. should i just install rev14 which will properly replace rev13b and do nothing to rev13b?

Like they say: "Don't fix what ain't broken"
If everything works, keep r13b, else get r14. The r14 installer will overwrite r13b with r14

where did he state it was his last cios. I just remember reading threads and people saying "last cios" got confused with latest cios. I'm not sure if u have the official announcment then sorry but I didn't hear it.

No modchip just cioscorp V2 and cios rev14
Preloader SM ios set to 249
but still get 001 unauthorised device with ghostbusters and indy jones.
please help as i thought rev14 had 001 error fix

People just misunderstood something he said, that he has since gone on record correcting.

He did say a few times though, that he'll have no time to work on anything new until September... so I hope that VC/WW from USB app is coming soon. That was the big feature I was looking forward to playing with. I really hope we don't have to wait until September to check it out.

Im getting code dumps using coverfloader 1.0 on rev14. tried deleting the config files, same result. Has anyone managed to use coverfloader with this CIOS release?

I and a few others found a bug. SSBB freezes on some video playing scenes. I'm not sure if that's it, but I went back to 13b and will stay unless nand emulation is usable or someone finds out how to fix SSBB.

ur just picking what ios your using to be able to install the cios off of. Just use the default and only need do it once

Works perfectly for me with USB Loader GX - loaded everything I threw at it, reset, loaded another!

Just needed to to turn the 002 fix on in the general settings.
