@test84: I can understand you good.... I feel the same. All games released look good and all, but they're missing something:

a deep, long, fresh gameplay.

Zelda, DQM and DQIX *may* change this, but, that's not sure (especially since they took out the Online Multiplayer out of IX

)

Currently I just play MPH online and try to pwn some people (Yesterday I was pwnd by Samus guy which had my level ^^ ).

My Suggestion: Just wait for good DS Games like Dragonquest, Zelda, Dementium the Ward, Assassins Creed, My Sims, Call of Duty 4, C.O.R.E

and the other billion good titles to come out.

BTW: People, did you notice something ? The good games do start to come out now...

PS: test84, that swf game in your sig is funny ^^, I like it, althought it is hard.

OMG YOU'RE GROWING OUT OF GAMES !!!!!!!
wtf.gif

Happens to us all..... I'm nearly 40 and I've had several spells on and off where all my games bore the shit outta me and I just wanna sell em on eBay, as well as take a sledgehammer to my PC to get me off the damn internet once and for all........

But it passes, and eventually you'll come back to it refreshed. Familiarity breeds contempt, as they say.
It's not the end of the world just find something else to do for a while.

If you loved Picross maybe Guru Logic Champ/Gulroz Chang Poo is the name of your game -gba- It will help to keep
your mind in limber.
Enter as your name (unlock all the levels):
(Hiragana) Ka HEART (Hiragana) su HEART (hiragana) mi
Orbital for the gba is a great game either.
Ninja cop?
Electroplankton?

Brothers in Arms ? That game is like extremely short but it was much better that way anyway. It has pretty graphics and a good gameplay, I actually enjoyed it a lot.

also, why don't you take a look at the emulators or GBA games? NesDS is working awesome and some games can keep you busy for a while. Also there are tons of great GBA games that you probably haven't played.

I agree. I fell into a DS Dry Spell (lollerpops) too a few days ago and decided to give Super Mario 64 DS a spin. It's still keeping me entertained as there's so much to do.

Back on topic : Yeah I know how you feel - it seems like every game's boring now. Usually I try to go along with it. Occupy myself with other things for a while, and before I know it I wanna play a game. Things I tend to do when not gaming - go out with friends, check digg, check various webcomics (it can take you quite a while to catch up to the current spot). I don't think you should try and force yourself to play any games. Try to induce a feeling of nostalgia maybe? Play an old game that you used to play/like (like on the NES or SNES). You'd be surprised, sometimes, how much that helps. Well anyway good luck with your dry spell. Hope I helped.

+1 to clubhouse games. Stamp mode is perfect when your attention span is short.

For mindless wanton destruction, Dead N Furious is good for a spell.

Currently, I'm finding LemmingsDS and Simcity are keeping me amused.

I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    they sorta are a pc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc

Damn Frontier is offering 5Gbps now lol

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
nintendo needs to up their game soon
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah even bt support for Xbox one controllers are just as easy as pairing
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
considering the steamdeck can emulate the switch (yikes) theres almost 0 reason to buy the switch apart from playing online and using cartridges
