Cuphead delayed to mid-2017

image.png

Studio MDHR's 1930s-inspired platforming game, Cuphead, has been officially delayed all the way to "mid 2017". The game was first revealed at E3 2014, for Xbox One and PC, and was slated for a release this year, but the developers have decided to push back the release date of Cuphead to ensure their plans could be completely fulfilled.

Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact. We are happy to announce that Cuphead will be coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam in Mid-2017.

It's no surprise to me. The ambitions they have for it vs. the team size, nuff said.

They also probably want to balance and tweek things, from the initial reactions from the demos they've done, said it's good but has an over-reliance on boss battles. They probably want to tweek the other parts of the game to make sure they're just as fun as those sections.

I got my XB1, no rush, I'll play it when it gets released.

Totally fine with this. They're putting so much work into this, I'd be more surprised if there wasn't a delay. Plus, the people working on the game were SUPER nice when I met them at E3. They're putting their all into this game, and I respect that.
Nice! I wanted to go check the game out while I was there, too, but I never had the chance. It's always good to hear when a dev team is kind and dedicated to their project.

If they get threatened on twitter will they be forced to finish the game faster? Worked for No Mans Sky.

This is a joke in case anyone takes it seriously
Wait, that's what happened with NMS? No wonder it ended up being bad.
