crests should be fixed now

btw, have you noticed that a title screen 'CULDCEPT DS' is now in english too (for some weeks) ?

The first time I noticed the title screen, I had spammed the A button right past it, but thought the title screen looked odd. Went back to title, and it looked awesome. Every respectable translation needs a translated title screen, and we got one.

Crests look a little better, but still aren't fully fixed. The first crest (Accomplishment) looks fine in-game, but when I highlight crest 2 (Champion), the Japanese text above "Crest of the Champion" is missing, and the word "Collect" is missing from the "how to earn" section. When I highlight my next crest (#8, Knight), there is only a "t" where the Japanese title should be, Japanese text where the English title should be, the flavor text section has only a "t" in it, and the "how to earn" section has just 1 Japanese character in it. Similar issues with my few other crests. It looks like the 'how to earn' text "vel 5 land in each element (4 symbols)" from crest #30 (Abundance) is being displayed where the title for crest #33 (Fortune) should appear. I have no idea what to make of this, but I hope you can. The game no longer freezes when I highlight certain crests, so yay for small victories.
NOTE: Yesterday morning I made this wiki edit (http://culdcept.referata.com/w/index.php?title=Crests_List&curid=444&diff=4189&oldid=4175), where I added 1 character of blank space to the 4 crest entries that had nothing entered for String 3, thinking it might somehow help something. Could these be causing problems?

theli:

Can the crest part of the wiki be set up like the card list? So that when we float our mouse over the number it gives the original Japanese text for reference? I don't want to lose all the Japanese when I type over it with translations.

Ah..... nice. how silly of me to forget history.

crests are surely fixed now
They are! Thanks Theli. Now I need to unlock every crest so I can check out the rest of the line breaks... should keep me busy awhile.

I've been looking forward to map translations for awhile. I hope we start working on Rules next!

EDIT: Whenever I try to enter the "Karin Mountains" in story mode, or whenever I pick the same stage in Free Play (the stage that looks like a plus sign, 3 squares and a fort branching out in each direction), the game freezes. After all the pre-battle text, and after the image of the map pops up to be confirmed, the screen goes black like it normally does just prior to loading the stage, but then the music freezes and the screen remains black. I've checked 3 other stages, and they did not have this issue. Any ideas, Theli?

i disabled updating maps from wiki for now ... i'm pretty sure that is the cause of freeze...
(disabled until that is fixed)
a new patch (with updating maps disabled) will be up in 5 minutes

sigh .. i'm so tired of this project

it would be great if someone could hack it instead of me

Disabling the map wiki upload did stop the freezes. Thanks.

When I went to play a Free Play match earlier, I selected Shuffle in the LandType options, but when the game started, every land was neutral. I hit soft-reset, started a new match using the 3rd LandType option, which is blank where the name should appear, and all lands were randomized (aka the effect of Shuffle). I changed the Shuffle option to Neutral, but I'm having trouble figuring out which blank entry should be changed to Shuffle. I found 18 blank entries where the Japanese text doesn't look like it is representing symbols. Copy/pasting the Japanese text for Shuffle and Neutral into the Find command got me nowhere. Other than entering symbols or numbers into each blank entry to distinguish between them in-game, does anyone have any idea how I can find this specific entry?

There's translation error in the Menu script. Offset 1092269 is actually Shuffle, but translated incorrectly to Neutral, hence the flipflop on the Land Type option effects. Not sure why the text are not showing up in game though, since they fit within the length limit. theli will have to answer that one.

I cannot find the entry in the script for ???? though, which is the "All Neutral" land type option.

I was the one who changed Shuffle to Neutral in the wiki. Either commands were mislabled in the JPN version, or something else is weird here. As the wiki is now (shuffle correctly translated), "Shuffle" appears where the "All Neutral" option should appear in-game.

no its not
if you checked in J version you'd see it is ?{EF}{40} (offset 1092280)

idk what went wrong there but that is fixed now

i am getting an error when i extract the latest patch from their .7z format now. anyone else getting this?
It extracted and patched fine for me. I can upload the patch file elsewhere for you if you keep having trouble extracting it.

EDIT: http://rapidshare.com/files/325052937/culd...ng.xdelta3.html
There you go. That's the most recent WIP patch file (at the time of this post).

The translated Rounds/Goal box and crest screen was a nice surprise, and the maps all have english names in Free Play now. The new battle screen looks great!

cool. thanks! for some reason i couldn't extract the file. =\ hopefully this wont continue to happen for me. The error i get says that the patch failed CRC check and that the file is corrupt.

does the volume (BGM & Sound Effect) adjustment work in the Japanese version of the game? because they don't work in my patched game.

EDIT:
the latest patch extracted fine with me. =) not sure what happened before.

i also checked the volume adjustment option in the Japanese version and they also doesn't seem to work. weird.

In Free Play mode, whenever I select Arena 1, 5, 6, 7, or 8, the game stalls on a black screen. I tested all other stages, and only these 5 Arena stages lock up. Any ideas?

All maps should have names and descriptions now. I'll work out the line breaks after the next patch release.
