DSCovered confirmed to work with my custom loader.nds on:
DSTT 1.17a12+yslaunch(4GB Class2)
DSONEi/ttpatch 1.17a12detox+yslaunch(4GB Class6) (I don't know why but tooooo slow to boot, more than a minute)
AK2i+Rudolph's NDSLoader(ak2loader.nds) (16GB Class6)

Where might someone get Rudolphs NDS loader from?

DScovered Alternative General Extlink Wrapper

This is loader.nds to replace /d_system/loader.nds.
With this you can avoid YSMenu...

Tested with nds.NDSLoader.nds (Rudolph's ak2loader.nds loader)

How to install:
1.edit loader.ext with text editor (firstline: your desired loader)
2.put loader.nds and loader.ext to /d_system/

Good point - I can't seem to find any rudolph nds loader for acekard on google (found a lot of '3-in-1 backup' though)

Hang on, while searching (& typing this out) I just realised something - is this the same 'rudolph' that hacked AKAIO 1.5.1 so that it works on clones....... Well sod that

So its ok to use one persons software on cards that it wasn't designed for but not a different persons software? (DS games are not designed to be run from flash carts, just as akaio was not designed to be run on cards outside the ak range). If that's the view you take, then you shouldn't be using a flash cart at all, you should be using only original game carts. Sounds a bit hypocritical to me.

Short answer - Yes
Long Answer is .. I don't hate R4 USERS but what I do find irritating is that AKAIO have kept their 'code' a secret to prevent use on other cards & someone comes along, hacks it to work on other systems & didn't even ask if the developers mind. He didn't even change the name - AKAIO = 'Acekard All-in-one' not 'All Kards All-In-One'

- I guess I wouldn't mind so much if he told the team he's figured out a way to use it on R4 clones & would they mind if he produced a similar OS (not a direct copy) based on their code.

You on the other hand - have developed an alternative method to launch ROMS, using methods etc that the developer had incuded in her own software - & not hacked the main program - that's why I don't hate you

As mentioned I don't mind people developing stuff so that it'll work on other systems, or get around certain restrictions - just that he didn't ASK if he could do that

I'm not sure if i'm doing this 100% correctly, but once I select a game, I get the green screen with text, which flashes off before I can read it, so I assume there is no problem, but the ds then powers off

Somehow nds.UiMS206.nds has a issue in my AK2i so I use old version (not available any longer)

Confirmed, I got the same thing as you did Spinal.

Or you just use nds.akaio.nds with AKAIO 1.5.1... Installation is much easier

Follow Xenon++ instructions. I just did and it works now.

... I guess the official installation guide needs to accommodate ak now.

"illegal characters in path"

I'm not 100% sure, but if you look in the 'code' section of the file list, check for any codes that have characters other than # or A-Z, perhaps - or / or ?. If you can find any, unselect them then try updating again.

All my codes are all like # and A-Z.

edit: I've found the problem! Some codes were like ### and not like ####.I've not selected these codes, but after i've removed the files from my card it works!

I'd like to know what homebrew uses such code. Possibly the homebrew cannot launch from MoonShell2.
