It still doesn't work on my Acekard 2.1, AKAIO 1.5.1, and 4gb SDHC setup!

Whenever I try and load a ROM I still get that stupid black screen!

give it a litle time, the loader.nds included in the latest download is for ysmenu.

I will have to throw together an akaio version for the ned update.

Thanks Spinal,

With my R4 it works on 4gb card, and no longer runs up in Favorites menu.

For those of you having trouble with save games try this. Rename the ******.SAV to ******.sav. Changing to lower case 'sav' seems to sort most games. Something I read regarding the way the R4 and DSTT treat save games.

Sweet.

Edit: can anyone answer this:
I boot my R4 to DScovered and load YSMenu from DScovered, I can then run 'YBCE' Brain Challenge from YSmenu and the old save works. If I run Brain Challenge direct from Dscovered then the old save is overwritten. Why does it work through YSmenu manually even when YSmenu has been run through DScovered yet it freaks out when run directly from Dscovered?

confirm.. the program itself is just looping ...
ok my fault... YSMENU.INI is found in TTMenu folder.. thats why it looping.. xD.. it works now

if i select a game it will back to the menu again.

request features:

can we define where ysmenu is placed too? placing ysmenu in root card is iffy.. i just want to place them into one folder or inside the ttmenu. i want multiple loaders to be used .. and only Coverflow DS is conflict on this circumtances

test using: DSTT w/ 4gb SDHC... cause that is the only one can run ysmenu for me.

fucking confirmed... my SAVE files are ruined... now beware... im sure this program ruins it...

1. the ini file is unreadable..
2. the sav file becomes 1kb after boot

frown.gif

this is not coincidence.. i double checked it... i backup my save and make sure that it works.. well my last save works.. now i boot it again.. and baah.. yeah the 2 files are damaged. the ysmenu.ini and the save file...

GOOD NEWS!!! I have gotten it working for Acekard! I am using link launcher and Xeon++'s loader!
It's kind of a work around, but it still works marvelously!
I'll put my workaround kit together and post it here!

Alright, so how do you get that and what are the steps to installing it?

Currently there is NOT any extlinks. We have to know how to load nds in M3... Possibly M******** knows but you should not ask(though he is very kind person).

Definitely. Seems to OK now in my environment

#My alternative loader.nds will accept YSMENU.INI outside of / let's see if it works

http://www.mediafire.com/file/vgrnnmmmznd/dscoveredloader.7z

DScovered Alternative General Extlink Wrapper

This is loader.nds to replace /d_system/loader.nds.
With this you can avoid YSMenu...

Tested with nds.NDSLoader.nds (Rudolph's ak2loader.nds loader)

How to install:
1.edit loader.ext with text editor (firstline: your desired loader)
2.put loader.nds and loader.ext to /d_system/

#I hope legacy DSision will also be updated, could you?

So I take this one still doesn't work on M3 Real?

Of course not. Currently DSCovered works only on:
R4TF(R4)/TTIO(DSTT)/SCDS/RPGS(AK2,AKRPG)/R4DS(R4Ultra)

BTW if you set my "m3reset" for loader.ext, you can "back to firmware"

1. Is ANYONE else having this problem?
2. Did you try formatting your sd card? The last time I had problems with files getting corrupted, the file system saw damaged (bad sectors etc.).

- unrelated -
Would anyone like some sort of direct shortcut to moonshell or something? It seems a popular thing to do.

I am still having the occasional game refuse to use the old save game when using Dscovered instead it is overwritten but it has never corrupted the entire SD card. I will occasionaly see two save games listed one with a truncated filename, example below.

Sonicandbullony.nds
Sonicandbullony.sav
Sonica~1.SAV

The thing I don't understand is if I run DScovered and then load YSmenu through Dscovered and then run the games from the YSmenu screen the old save games will work fine. So the problem must lie with Dscovered.nds or loader.nds not YSmenu.nds.

The other strange behaviour is DScovered requires r4patch.dat in the root of the card or it will exit back to YSmenu on game load. Ysmenu will operate fine without this file.

I don't know the loader.nds behavior as I HAVE NOT used it, but does it use short filename? I do recommend using long filename for YSMenu.ini...
#I should test my loader.nds on DSTT later (with nds.yslaunch.nds)

some of my gamesaves are not working, anyone using this should be careful and backup save datas, also is it really slow when its loading? im using a DSPhat

I have never had the problem with the shortened save filenames every before. I can't think what the reason might be.
As for requiring r4patch.dat, I would assume that file is only required for the R4ds, I have been using ttds exclusivly for testing, but again, I can't think of a reason for ysmenu requiring it under one situation and not under another.

The included loader.nds does not use the short filename. On;y the long filename is used for ysmenu.
The short filename is there for akaio, which seemed to require it.

Were these saves created by ysmenu initially? most cart software has slightly different format save files from eachother.

DSCovered confirmed to work with my custom loader.nds on:
DSTT 1.17a12+yslaunch(4GB Class2)
DSONEi/ttpatch 1.17a12detox+yslaunch(4GB Class6) (I don't know why but tooooo slow to boot, more than a minute)
AK2i+Rudolph's NDSLoader(ak2loader.nds) (16GB Class6)
