The weird thing is on the menu you can access launch game, but cannot select the other options (despite being able to put the option selector over them.
The other options are not implemented yet, I think I mention that on a couple of pages througout this thread.

QUOTE(alidsl @ Jan 24 2010, 04:52 PM) Can you upload all the files that DScovered writes and maybe that will make it work?

(if a file is failing to write)

Can't, DScovered creates a file to tell loader.nds which game to load, that file gets deleted once the file is read.

hey spinal whens the next version coming out

Probably in a few days, like I said a couple of post ago, I'm currently working on changing how the homebrew covers are stored, so that they're more shareable and not reliant on filenames.

-note-
I haven't even started on the other menu items yet, so please don't complain about them not working because currently, they just don't do anything.

I use an edge card, and can tell you ds covered does work. It loaded up fine for me, ensure you updated, a new firmware camer out just days ago.

Also I have to admit, i ran into problems with this, it worked at first, but when i tried to edit the config file (which works for roms to change their display name) i then tried to edit it so it would recognise the homebrew apps and show their cover, as i have a fair few. But this just stopped the whole app running.

Is it true there is no way to have HB apps showing up on this?

I do agree, an autoloader would be great, as for me, when i load my ds i know what i wanna play. But this menu is brilliant for those times when you are unsure, or your girlfriend picks it up, an autoloader or a way to edit the config to boot this up immediately would be a great idea.

Will continue toggling with this today. When i loaded box art onto the HB app, it allowed me to, and updated the card, but when i opened the file.dat the names were there as per, but EVERY HB app had the file number #### - i then editted this to the correct number which was assigned, and thats when it stopped working for me.

Sorry if ive repeated myself, i still havent got my morning coffee yet !

Are you able to run commercial roms with it?

Yes, there is a way to run commercial games. Just start reading the previous pages.

@WoobiE
I think he was asking if Wiisee was able to, not if you can in general.
(correct me if I am wrong)

Yes, I was asking Wiisee. But I see now that he posted - that he made a mistake and it is not working on the EDGE card.

Could anyone still load the ysmenu? I get commercial roms to load, but cannot get ysmenu to load. it just load the last rom that I loaded.

This is my setup for Original R4 + YSmenu.
Just have YSmenu setup as you default firmware. Put DScovered into the root of your card as spinal_cord instructed. Patch DScovered as spinal_cord instructed on the previous page. Remember to update the card via the windows application.
Load DScovered and enjoy.
Thats how I got mine to work.

I tried the patch that was posted a couple pages back, and I can't get DSCovered to load properly anymore...

When I try to load it now, it just gives me a black touch screen and a super-messed-up top screen...

Before, with the normal R4tf.dldi file, I could load DSCovered fine, but couldn't load games properly (homebrew or retail), the bottom screen would stay normal, but the top screen would turn solid pink (looked to be #FF00FF color...)

Info about card:
R4 SDHC (ndslr4.com)
4GB MicroSDHC card, Kingston, Class 4
Default card firmware
YSMenu set up as standard NDS file.

DSision 2 works fine

Please help me with steps to make it work.

For the time being, I am just going to patch it with the old file and try some more stuff...

edit: Just found out that the DLDI NoPatch part of the problem, but I still cannot load games

edit2: I am a moron... I put DOL file instead of NDS file... (I have been working with Wii Homebrew too much lately...)

I'm afraid there might be a while before the next update. I am having to rewrite large chunks of dscovered.

jceggbert5 - The problem is most likely the SDHC card, ysmenu doesn't like to autoboot a game from dscovery if you have one. I have no idea why this is, so I have no idea how to go about fixing it, sorry.

If your top screen stayed pink is cause th skin folder is not in the system folder found that out. make sure in the system folder you have skin, cover, loader. The ysmenu will help load roms out. Also make sure that dscovered extension is .dat, for some reason my laptop kept putting it to .dat.nds, so it would not load properly. tryed it another computer and fix the problem. Also make sure you set the softreset on ysmenu before loading the dscovered to card. cause for some reason my ysmenu just load the last game.

I get the same problem with SDHC, hopefully it will work on the next update

For everyone that has dstt to get it to work.

first patch the ysmenu and the dscovered. than add the homebrew, games, ysmenu and keep the TTMENU to the sd card. after the TTMENU loads up launch the ysmenu, than set all the softreset for all games. Go back to the computer and load that dscovered (change name to TTMENU). add all folders for dscovered. If the top screen stays pink your missing the skin menu for dscovered. Also change the TTMENU from .dat to .nds. this will help you add cheats. than try it and everything should work and the games have soft reset.

If you rename to .dat, then HOW do you play it? Help!!! (I have an R4 SDHC)

What? NO.

If you are using TTDS and want DScovered to be your default firmware, then it needs dldi patched and renamed to ttmenu.dat.
If you are running it as normal, LEAVE IT AS DScovered.NDS or else your cards firmware will not recognise it as a DS executable.
