Gaming copying files from one drive to another

copied files from my 1TB external drive to my new 3TB internal drive ..... the only problem is , what I copied over doesnt match up , it off by about 4 gigs ......862 gigs copied from the external , but on the internal is shows up as 858 ..... anyone have any ideas ?

Keep in mind that the external drives usually come with SOME pre-installed data... but 4 gigs worth? I doubt it.

Before I format my external , I needto know if anything is missing . The gigs makes me say yes , but from what I was reading , and the way I needed to get windows recognize the entire drive , makes me wonder if it just has to do with sector size
