radare2 tweeted yesterday that they are working on support for decompiling NRO Nintendo Switch binaries. How are people even able to copy non cartridge-based games/binaries off of the device? Is there a copy to SD card option somewhere that I'm just missing?

If possible, I'll try to to read from a local file using PegaSwitch, but I can't imagine reading an entire executable like the Splatoon 2 demo with read8 or evalfile is sustainable or even possible. I'm looking to start messing around/decompiling binaries, checking the strings table, etc.

Did I read downloaded games automatically go to the SD card if there is an SD card in the system?

The Switch supports FAT32 formated SD cards and I guess they use the stuff downloaded onto the SD Card.

Memory dumps via the WebKit exploit.

Files saved on the SD card are encrypted.
