Hi friends,
are there any cooperative multiplayer games for nds? (besides the minigames in mario kart ds)

I am looking for REAL cooperative and not competitive multiplayer games.

thank you in advance.

so far i haven'tfound a single coop game that lets you and your friend play through the entire story
ds has every hardware for it but they just won't have any of those games, why???

It's a shame, nintendo sucks balls with this kind of stuff. (specially online)

Anyone can think, as the original poster said, of any *real* *online* coop game (not competitive, in the story, not in a minigame) for Wii ?
None occur to me. I think there aren't any.

(And single player? stuff like mario galaxy's 2nd player does not count)

I belive Pirates of the Carribean has a coop, but that one pretty much sucks. Also, Lego Star Wars has one (i would recommend the complete saga). I'm not sure about Lego Indiana Jones, but thats probably coop to.

I've seen this question around here quite a bit and every time I read the replies, they either suggest Contra 4 (which I've played and agree that there is a pretty fun and solid co-op mode) and Dungeon Explorer (which I have never played but according to some, it's a good co-op, just bad gameplay). You could also try Bomberman?

i think soma bringer has the option of co-op storymode for local area.
i believe the engine is even built for that exact purpose(but you can get up to 2 bots so it's still playable alone)

Me and my mate have played through several GOOD co-op games

The Good:
Soma Bringer = the best by FAR Can progress together , dont have to be in same area when exploring 100% win!
Final fantasy ROF / EOT = both awesome 2 player altho EOT isnt out in english yet...
Phantasy Star Zero = Great fun and wifi multiplayer

The not SO good:
From the Abyss = Not the best but good fun co-op as its quite challanging
Children of mana = you cant progress together but its fun 2 player co-op
Lego star wars complete triolgy = Great 2 player lots of options but iv found it loses connection easy and laggy in areas

I believe you can play with up to four players in CoM's co-op. To me, it's the co-op that really makes CoM a fun game. The single-player was okay but very repetitive. No, you can't progress your game if you're the visitor, but the gameplay is still very fun with a friend or two...or three.

Phantasy Star 0 is probably going to offer the most ambitious and enjoyable co-op on DS. I know some folks are muddling through the Japanese version, but I'm still looking forward to the English release. It isn't too far off.
