You'd use the Gateway Launcher to dump the .3ds file, then follow a 3ds to cia conversion tutorial. In a bit of a rush so I can't look for you, but there's probably a few floating around in the FAQ & Tutorial section of the forum ^^
I dont have Gateway or whatever but I have rxTools. Can I use that?

Ok I got a .3ds file made from the Reddit tutorial but can someone explain what Xorpads and ExHeaders are?

To make it simple, let's call them decrytion keys for decrypting .3ds roms

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

let me quote sonic: "You're too slow!"

decryptions keys

Use my tutorial here:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-how-to-decrypt-extract-rebuild-3ds-roms.383055/

And follow from Decrypting

Well what exactly do you mean Decyrption keys? I heard ExHeaders are to do with Online Play and some kind of ID or something

My inner me explode everytime when a laggy sonic in ssb4 for glory lags the fuck out of my slow'n'dorf...

3ds roms are encrypted - to convert them to cia or for other use you need these decrytion keys, called xorpad, to... well... decrypt roms.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

And you propably heared something about headers: cia don't use these headers you mean, they are needed for the 3ds rom for online gaming or without legit one you can be banned - don't worry, in your own dumps they're always included.
Exheader: read this or just don't give a damn about it, all tutorials about 3ds to cia are step-by-step instructions, pretty foolproof

So lets say I use a Xorpad generated on my 3ds made the cia with the xorpads and installed it on another system with a different NNID etc then played online with it everything should be fine right?

You mixed something up.
You will never NEVER be banned by playing a cia game.
these 3ds headers are pretty much like a serial code, just like the serial code of your 3ds. It acts like an id with the fact it will be never be used/readed besides unregularely bann checking. in case 2 people playing the same 3ds online game and use the same 3ds header at the same time, nintendo MIGHT be bann these headers - this cartridges. But this thing about 3ds headers only apply to gateway 3ds user, not cia user. xorpads aren't bound to this individual cartridge game x - it's bound to the game x, get it? xorpads of game, let's say Pokemon Y EUR can decrypt all Pokemon Y EUR cartridge 3ds rom.
xorpad are decryption keys, exheader (or extended header) are a part of the ncch container format, and these 3ds rom header hasn't to do much with this thing.
Oh man english is not my native language so it's pretty hard to explain things over the internetz.

"It acts like an id with the fact it will be never be used/readed besides bann checking" So when Nintendo is checking the Headers if its being used on 2 consoles they will ban?

No, i mean if two gateway 3ds users use this header simultaneously online or a gateway 3ds uses same header at the same time the cartridge user, who is the souurce of this shared header. exactly at the same time. and as we know right know, only if they ban the header , in other words, this individual cartridge not the console or nnid (if they bann at all, but happened sometimes). but why do you care about it, do you have a gateway 3ds?

So your saying if a ban happens then only the person with the Original Game would get banned?
