I'm having problems with the USB loaders, not only CFG, and my Classic controller.
When I start the loader with the controller plugged or plug the controller on the wiimote with the loader running, it crashes. The screen goes black and a lot of text starts to appear. I have used GX and it has the same problem. Could it be an incompatibility with the classic controller?
I used to have the same problem and it turned out to be a fake classic controller.

Where did you buy it? Do you have a friend or know someone else who has a classic controller you can use to test? Does the connector plug (that you put in the wiimote) have 'Nintendo' on it?

Now that you said this, I've noticed that my controller is a fake. So, this is the problem.
Thanks for helping.

Can you add support for USB controllers like Rock Band instruments? When I play a back-up of Rock Band 3 on a HHD, I can't use the USB Keyboard (Piano)

afaik it should work, install cIOS d2x v6 base IOS56, then it should work. The d2x thread is sticky so it's easy to find

I'm having trouble with CFG Loader v70 freezing when I use a certain hard drive. I have two Wii's modded successfully running CFG loader and some Seagate hard drives. I'm modding another Wii (black Wii with 4.3U, I used ModMii to do everything for me but downloaded cfg loader myself). This Wii has a Toshiba Canvio USB 3.0 500GB hard drive (model number E05A050CAU3XW) and CFG loader freezes on the splash screen. I tried running with debug on and I get this:

wpad
conbg

I'm trying to change the path for the covers to my hard drive.

Are the USB ports called USB0: and USB1: in CFG? Or USB1: and USB2:?

I tried both USB0: and USB1: in the path but neither work...
covers_path = USB1:/usb-loader/covers (It's USB1: in GX so I tried that first)

The drive is formatted as a single NTFS partition.

The Wii doesn't like usb 3.0 drives. My Seagate Goflex drive doesn't work if I have the 3.0 cable plugged in it.

All my USB 3.0 drives work fine including all my Seagate Goflex drives as well as Western Digital USB 3.0 drives.
They work on multiple Wiis so I'm sure it's nothing special about my Wii that makes them work.
I have a feeling that if something isn't working right it may have nothing to do with the USB version.
USB 3.0 is fully USB 2.0 backwards compatible.

use ntfs:/...

the drive names and mount points are also listed in the partition selection screen

Thanks, I'll give that a shot.

I also noticed that every time I download all the missing covers it re-downloads ALL the HQ covers for ALL the games regardless how many times I let the process complete. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Is there a way to put everything on the drive so I don't have to use an SD card at all? And would fat32 drives be fat32:/... ?

Thanks again.

It shouldn't do that. I don't know what's wrong.

yes, just move /usb-loader from SD to USB and then you don't even need to edit the cover path options.
usb hdd uses these names:
- usb: (for fat)
- ntfs:
- ext:
sd is always sd:

Hello I have a problem with cfg when I want to launch a music game I have this error message

"Erreur: réglage de fragments 0 3
Discordance d'ID: [******] [] "

what should I do?
thank you in advance

I was able to get the covers on the NTFS drive using NTFS:/... - thank you.

I let it download all the HQ covers again.
Even after letting it finish it still wants to download them all when I select to download all missing covers.

When I copy CGF all to the hard drive and leave out the SD card I simply get black screen.
Could this have to do with the 4k sector size? Is there perhaps another IOS involved using the forwarder?

That may be that it is still looking for something on the SD card.

Check in the config file if there is any reference to the SD card. Possibly the covers storage location (change SD: to NTFS: ).

I have two problems with CFG still.
The first one is with the ocarina, a lot of the txt cheat files don't load because the CFG gives the error "Too much codes" or something like that.
The second problem is not exactly a problem, since it happens with every loader that I have used. When I'm playing, and go into the HOME Menu, if I select reset, in some games, the game reset, in others, it has the same effect as "wii menu", and with other games, the whole console resets. How can I adjust this, so the reset button ONLY resets the game?

Hmm, could be 4k sector size still causes some trouble.
While we tested launching games from a 4k ss hdd, I don't know how reliable writing to such drive is?
Maybe there are still some write related problems with 4k ss, or maybe it's something else entirely...

Well the covers wrote fine. It doesn't matter that the covers already exist, CFG will re-download them anyways, regardless of how many times you do it. I had the same problem on the SD card. It's not a big deal. I'll just add covers individually for each program I install.

I'm more interested in why I can't boot CFG directly from the hard drive without an SD card... Does the forwarder use a different IOS to initially address the drive?

Ah right that's true, depending on the forwarder, but most forwarder use IOS58 now which has a different usb driver... so maybe that could be it.
Can you launch it from HBC? You can switch to usb in hbc and try from there.

I'll see if I get any idea why it downloads the HQ covers each time for you, it doesn't happen to me.
(but i don't use a custom cover path)
btw do the cover/cache/*.ccc files get created?

Yes, the cache .ccc files get created.

I have the same problem without a custom path using SD card.

No, I can't launch homebrew. It's not compatible with the 4k drives.

Is there a way to do a d2x v6 version of IOS58?

As far as I know, d2x v6 is the only way to even get the wii to work with the 4k ss drives.

I think reading should be fine with other waninkoko and hermes cios as well.
It's just for starting the games from a 4k ss that you need d2x.
as for the forwarder, try asking FIX94
