so when you want ios reload block automatic
you can put this line in the config.txt from the loader???
block_ios_reload = auto
is this line correct when i type this it is not working
grtz jos
Auto means that it will be used when the d2x-cIOS is installed and used by the loader. If it's not there, it won't block the IOS Reload. So check if the d2x6-cIOS is correctly installed and used by the loader. Also try to generate the config.txt with the included Configurator in the Full-Package, to eliminate typos. And be shure that you have the latest version of CFG-Loader installed.

@oggzee Thanks for the help, placing the images in the theme-folder worked without a problem

. Not shure if I'll release it though, it's rather minimalistic (I try to block most features of the loader, just press A and load the game) and doesn't use the new GUI, sorry

Ok, I've got a question that may or may not have already been discussed:
Is there any way for a game to access save data that is stored on either the SD card or USB drive instead of only from the Wii's internal NAND? (I ask because my Wii's NAND was down to < 50 blocks free while my 4gb SDHC card was nearly empty...)

It just seems stupid that Nintendo would design a capability to copy/move save data from the internal NAND to and an SD card (and back again) while only allowing games to access data stored within the NAND...

I know Mighty Channels was discussed in another thread for running VC/WiiWare apps, but I want to know about actual game saves...

My IOS 57 games

Arc Rise Fantasia
Call Of Duty: Black Ops
Def Jam Rapstar
DJ Hero 2
Grease
Just Dance 2
Sniper Elite
Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2
Truth or Lies
Sakura wars?

COD: BO requires 57 but we play DJ Hero 2 and Just Dance 2 on 56 fine. Don't know about the others.
Arc Rise Fantasia works with base 56 as well. Conduit 2 also played fine with base 56 (tho i don't play multiplayer) is it base 57 for use with that headset?

hi , im new here and kind of new to usb loaders and cIOS and i have a few questions:

1. How do I boot a game off of another cIOS? When i pick that option it looks like there is only a select few I can pick from

2. I read that cIOS 56 supports the most games. If i just google that and install that ios, will that option be available to choose from when im booting a game?

3. Will i have to reinstall the usb launcher to run games off of 56? i installed it on 249 i believe

4 Finally, ive had some trouble booting Mario Kart Wii off 249. Sometimes it boots and sometimes it sticks on the part before it boots the ios and i have to reset. does this mean im using the wrong cios?

Thanks
Hey there, Firstly your a bit confused on some stuff ill try to clear that up for you

1. To use another cIOS you have to have other cIOS installed first, if you used modmii to hack your wii it would have picked all the best up-to-date cIOS and installed them. After you have the other cIOS' installed you'd just have to select the cIOS you want to use for the game thru the usb loader options for that game and then save it. if you dont save it you'd have to change it everytime you opened the loader.

2. You said that cios 56 supports most games but there is no cios 56. what you are talking about is the nintendo ios 56. when you install a cIOS it will ask you which base ios you wish to use. It's kinda hard to explain, but the way I look at it is the ios are like drivers or firmware. a cIOS is a custom ios that isn't made by nintendo which is where the c in cIOS comes from. cIOS are install in slots 200+ anything below is a ios made by ninty and everything above is custom made by the softmodding community. Im not good at explaining things, hope that helped you a bit.

3. As for the "Usb launcher" i assume your talking about a usb loader like CFG/wiiflow/GX. You wont have to install a new loader assuming the one you installed is up-to-date. Again I think your confusing stuff again

4. Mario kart should play fine off of cIOS 249. How did your hack your wii which guide did you use? It may be best for you to rehack your wii using Modmii. That way everything will be up-to-date

Thanks a lot Oggzee... always at the state of the art...

EDIT

Thanks a lot for listing the translators in the credits... that's really very kind of you...

By the way, the new theme "Blue 2011" is awesome...

If you have a cios with base 56 and one with 57 you're good allready.
You 'de be installing the same stuff in just a different slot.... What's the point?

Ok, I don't know if it's a know issue but it's quite big

It's impossible to load games with v69 if you haven't the channel forwarder (code dump everytime) . After installing the forwarder, all is good !

my games are on wbfs part and before installing the forwarder i tested d2x v5 and v6 both failed.
So the problem is fixed for me but you should try to fix it no?

Hmm this was already reported by airline for korean games, didn't know it's valid for all games.
Does it code dump when the loader is started or when you start a game?
Can you post the code dump screenshot?

EDIT: does it happen with an older cfg loader version too? Like 68d, 65, 60?
And does it happen also with a cios without the korean key?

@NutNut
Airline38 discovered the same issue a few days ago when testing korean key patch for d2x.
It's a weird issue.

EDIT:
oggzee, you beat me for a bunch of seconds

It's only when I launxh games.
I don't think it's related to Korean Patch or cIOS because I tested with the same cIOS on Mighty Loader v16 and all games were working.

Just a minute for the pic ^^
Same as airline38.
And you're right, the cios is not resposible for this issue since only cfg has it.

stupid stops nobody

running games from sd the ninty way:
1. copy from sd to nand
2. run from nand
3. delete from nand

savegames are nand only
and since the wii has no OS it could only be changed in new games
or by hacks that cause their own problems

I really hope WiiU get an OS for abstracting HW access and managing multiple users

@NutNut
Maybe you missed this

Hello, I am a cfg usb loader user and I have always been using the 222 version of the program due to incompatibilities with Waninkoko's CIOS. The 222 version works without a problem whatsoever and I was planning to continue using it but the latest developments in CIOSx rev21d2x made me very jealous. However, even with the latest version of the CIOS (v6), I continue to have problems. Before anything else, here is my setup.

I use a european Wii (v4.2) modded originally with xzxero's guide and quite recently modded again with Modmii.

The list of my IOS's is:

IOS 222 Base: 38 v5.0 modmii
IOS 223 Base: 38+37 v4 modmii (r4)
IOS 224 Base: 57 v5.0 modmii
IOS 249 Base: 56 d2x v6 (r21006)
IOS 250 Base: 57 d2x v6 (r21006)

I have an external usb 2 hard disk box that contains a 250GB WD sata II drive.
The format of my HD is FAT32.
My hard disk has been checked with chkdsk and defragmented with the Auslogics defragger.
Also, I use Wii Backup Manager (v61) to transfer all my games to the Wii.

If I run the normal version of the loader (any version, 0.4x was the first I tried more than a year ago), my Wii freezes at the splash screen and I have to turn it off holding on/off extensively.
If I run the 222 version of the loader (which I always do), the loader behaves as expected.

Now, if after running the 222 version I go to the options of a(ny) game and then modify IOS to use 249 or 250 and then save, during the boot phase of the game,
the loader displays ERROR: setting up fragments x x ID mismatch: [XXXXXX] []

Do you think there is something I could try other than substituting my external hard disk?
I would appreciate anyone's help...

The latest cfg is v69, please update to the latest one and try it again.

@FIX94: Yes, I use v69, I just wanted to say I've been using CFG Loader since v0.4x. No matter what version I use, it's always the same thing...

It sounds like your HDD is not compatible with waninkoko's cIOS. Does it work with a pen drive for example?

Ok, it's the same stack dump as airline got:
addr2line -i -f -e cfg69.elf 80b80d58 80b80d38 80aa4f1c 80ae3f7c 80ab46e4 80aa7730
_free_r
_free_r
Menu_Boot
OpenGameDialog
Gui_Mode
Menu_Loop

But i don't know what causes this...
I have some more questions though:

does it happen with an older cfg loader version too? Like 68d, 65, 60?

@FIX94: Yes, I tried using a USB stick (formatted FAT32 by Wii Backup Manager) and I put some small games inside. It works fine with the 249 version of the program. So, this incompatibility has to do with the USB to SATA PCB in my external hard disk box or with the hard disk itself. No matter what the answer is I hope davebaol will look into the part of the CIOS responsible and try to improve it...

v68d + d2x v6 with KKey patch = Work
v69 + d2x v5 without KKey patch = same code Dump
