config.txt disable_nsmb_patch = 1

SMNP01.bca in usbloader folder, like before
game is set to hermes cios 222

I run into error during game play, like without the BCA file

is BCA and Hermes 5.1 incompatible?

Why have you disabled the internal patch? Set disable_nsmb_patch to 0 and it should work. IF you want to use the external bca file, copy it to the usb-loader folder.

FIX94, that's what he said he did (if you ignore a possible typo)! ChaosEnergy, does Cfg report that it is using the BCA file during the startup sequence of the game?

when trying with wanins cios it surely says..error...bca gets ignored, you must use hermes v4
you can play, after some time, the error occurs (as expected)

when trying hermes v5.1
shows path of bca (no error message, so it seems to load the bca)
mload stuff...
the moment switching to game...
directly error screen..you never get the game to see

now used v63b6

OK, 5.1 and BCA might not like each other after all. However, that's not the crash I expect. NSMB's BCA crash would occur after a few minutes of gameplay, typically part-way though the second level IIRC. Does it work when you don't disable the patch?

@FIX94: Should we make this new one the recommended forwarder for everybody? I had included v7 in my tutorial, but if this one works better across the board, then it is obvious that I should update it.
Please, provide updated forwarders in both the BlueMatrix and Stripes flavours...
BTW, please clarify whether or not the IOS58 versions need of the IOS58 in order to be installed (or if they work also in Wii having no IOS58)
Thanks,

With disable_nsmb_patch = 0 game starts on hermes 5.1 and just played 3 levels without issues

Left game running for an hour, still working with the internal cfgloader fix
but this means that at least bca on hermes 5.1 is broken

Thanks,
I'll update the links soon, once we see there are no complaints from people testing the new ones.

And yes, it's quite clear that people without IOS58 are simply getting a black screen when trying to use the IOS58 forwarders. That's why I added the IOS58 part to the tutorial.

That debug message is logged when you enter the game options screen, so it is not related to your problem.
I suspect you might have some corrupted full or 2d covers and that's what the message is in coverflow mode.

thank you for the reply!

wiiware forwarder isos created with wad2iso always amend '00' to the discid, yet in the wiitdb.xml, all wiiware titles are labeled with a 4 digit discid. so i tried truncating a wiiware iso discid by using a hex editor to remove the trailing '00'. the game disappeared once i did that though. would it be possible to request that the loader support discs with 4digit discid? or @ least some type of built-in parsing to register wiiware discids(always begin with 'W')? it would be great to have the synopsis displayed with wiiware isos!
please repond if i should use the 4 digit cover id option...will that settle this issue?
?

If I format my USB HDD into WBFS format I can't use CFG usb version? What's the point of this whole WBFS partition.. Why don't I just format to fat32 and everything works?

I mean. What's the advantage of using WBFS format instead of FAT32?

edit: NVM kinda found the difference with these topics
WBFS vs FAT32
FAT32 or WBFS? Make your choice, What's it going to be?

Using v62

The loader didn't recongnize my partition anymore.

I installed the file trough priiloader, is that matter ?

After I delete the file from priiloader, it didn't work too. I upload new files in my SD from filetrip.

Thanks.
