Can someone confirm if the built in wii scubber for this usb loader is broken ?
I tried to copy Dairantou Smash Brothers X by using this usb loader and got 6.95GB
Runs fine until playing the videos, where it would just freeze.
I then decided to use WBFS manager 3.0 to copy it.
Got 7.11GB scrubbed with everything intact except for garbage files.
The game runs fine with no freezing when playing the videos.

A small request: can you please add a "show_game" setting just like the "hide_game" to add entries that don't have a corresponding WBFS ISO? I would like to put in entries for games that don't work with the loader, but maybe work with original disk. For example:

show_game = RCDE, R3XE
RCDE = Call of Duty 3 [Use Original Disk]
R3XE = Sam & Max: Season One [Use Original Disk]

This could also be useful for noting which games aren't currently installed, if all your games don't fit on your SD/USB drive.
Thanks.

for that i think that you can use custom cover , that will indicate you that you need the original or any disk insert to get it to work , BlindDude make one pack like that if i'm not wrong ,

i think it is an easier way to where you want to get beside what your asking
I'm not understanding you at all. How can this possibly help me, since I don't have the isos on the usb drive?

The video bug is due to IOS rev 14. It has nothing to do with Cfg Loader. Use Hermes' IOS222 to launch the other rip of Smash Brothers and you'll find your original rip should work perfectly.

It's strange it worked with WBFS Manager. Perhaps there's something different there to Waninkoko's ripping code. In any case, I'm pretty sure all USB Loaders share the same ripping code written by Waninkoko. However, if you find another USB Loader that is able to rip the game in a way that the videos work, then it would likely a fix could be made.

The video bug that you mention is a completely different issue, and I'm quite aware of that.
However the issue here is that the way how the game was ripped is not quite accurate as it should be.
The bug that is on cIOS 38 rev14 is still there even with a full extract of the game.
The bug would freeze the game with some text on screen, where as the problem I'm having would just freeze at the video selection menu when attempt to open a video, and that is due to a bad ripped.
On a side note, the USA version of this game ripped fine by the loader with no freezing at all, and like wise I'm using cIOS 222/223 with IOS 36/37&36/38&36/60&36.

I have yet to find a loader that would do a proper extract of the game and I don't think I would want to switch loader, since this is the best of all the other loaders. Although I must admit this loader is just a little bit not user friendly, where you would have to use the config file to edit most of the settings.

Ah, I see. That is an interesting problem. Have you tried ripping it with IOS222 by any chance? And does it change anything if you add "install_partitions = only_game"?

Can someone help me with covers?

I have downloaded the covers from inside the loader and they work fine but as soon as I turn my Wii off, they are all gone and won't load when I turn the Wii on next time.

My SD card is not locked either.

I think the directories go something like this...
root:/apps/usbloader
and
root:/usb-loader/covers etc
Maybe the SD FAT filesystem is corrupted or something.
Can you try:
1. backup your SD files
2. format the SD
3. copy the files back.

Is the implementation of the GeckoOS codes progressing well ? Thanks a lot !
Actually not much. It will take more time than anticipated. I have checked it, but the code is complex, I have limited time and I also lack the motivation to do that since I do not use the cheats. I'm sorry about that, but we'll see, maybe someday.

Could you please update the Theme links on the first page.
The config usb loader theme has been updated and would you be so kind to add my latest to.
Thanks.
Theme: Config_usb_loader
Theme: Colors
Done.

Hmm, it would be good if someone made a page or maybe just a post, listing all the available themes including the thumbnails of the console and gui mode (just 4:3 images, no need to make thumbnails of the widescreen ones) and download links. The first post is already crowded so that is not the appropriate place, and i don't have time to add the thumbnails, but I would add a link to such a page if it existed.
Anyone?

Good point, a topic where only and only Theme's can be posted.
2 screenshots (1 bg) (1 bg_gui) With downloadlink.

I made a post:

Theme's for Configurable USB Loader

OK, I was a little bored this afternoon, so I started playing round with VB (which I haven't used in ages) and created this:

configurator.png

I only have those shown options so far, but now that I've worked out how to debug them, the rest should come out fairly easily. I think I might be able to finish it off over the weekend.

Am I doing good? The options will have tool tips taken from my configuration tutorial eventually.

Fun stuff

I guess you have a typo: Unchecked boxes, should probably be Checked boxes?
As for the coordinates, I think it would be more useful if you could point and click them on the image, but that of course means more work to implement it...

Nice!!

I made a simple html page with javascript to get the correct x and y positions on the image where the game list and cover will be show.
you have to point to a 640 x 480 .png image and after that you can point with your mouse and it will write down the x and y.

This tool will be very helpfull for those wo want's to create a config.txt or theme.txt.

Will this tool also show the color's you select on a preview?
Like if you choose to make the header blue and rest black, will it be visible / preview how it will look afterwards?

I won't be doing any of that at first, but I guess it might not be too hard, once I get the other stuff in there. Note that I haven't ever really done any GUI programming, so it's taking me a while to work things out. The EGA colours for the console mode will be shown on the selection screen at least, and I plan to use the Windows colour wizard box for the GUI text colour.

Widescreen uses a 16:9 ratio, so: 16 / 9 * 480 = 853.32
So, the widescreen image should be 853x480 and then scaled down to 640x480

EDIT: haha, so many respones at the same time
smile.gif
Coming to think about it, I think PNo4 is right, using 853 will result in a bit too squished image, so i think 800 will produce a better result.

I wasn't aware of this, so the ones I'd made were made using 853. It looks ok when using 576i (which I used to use) but you're right that 800 is better when using 480i/p (which I use now). So I've updated the previous themes I made and added some new ones. Feel free to update the themes made by me to the following on the front page:

Nature, Nature 3D, Sunrise 3D, Evil Monkey 3D, Iceberg 3D, Match 3D
Bike Canal 3D, Blue Sunset 3D, Bocanegra 3D, Pink Sunset 3D, Stream Bridge 3D
Pearson 3D, Eva 3D, Keeley 3D

All include 4:3 and 16:9 versions for both GUI and console.

Not sure why, but on the latest release (40 release, not the beta) I can't seem to download any covers. All I get is 'domain unresolved' but when I downgrade to any previous version, the updating works fine, minus the occasional 404 or invalid png errors.

Sorry if this has been addressed before, but at 200 pages, I can't read this whole thread...
I just started using this loader last week. I have to admit...the video in the first post sold me on it. It's great! Thanks for the hard work.
I have an issue with most GUI styles tho. Flow and one or two others work fine. But if I flip through other GUI styles and use them, within seconds I get a freeze, sometimes with a horizontal green band across the screen for a second, then get booted out to the Homebrew Channel.
Brought my HDD and SD card to try on a buddy's Wii, same problem.
Using W.'s rev 10. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Please more details...
Which version do you use? The latest v40?
Can you try different versions and see if the problem is with a specific version or always?
How many games? Using mp3 background music?
Can you try with the latest cios rev14?

Currently using 39c. I will update to 40 when I get home tomorrow (I work on the road). The problem was present on 38 as well. I currently have 99 games on a Comstar 320GB HDD. I haven't loaded any mp3s on the SD card yet. I will also try cIOS rev 14 tomorrow. I've tried changing the skin as well...all the included ones plus a couple extras with no luck.

Also try deleting all your covers and re-download them. Maybe it's a corrupted image?
