First off, thanks for this awesome wii app! I love it!!

However, I am having an issue with downloading missing covers from within the app. There appears to be a bug with downloading images for games other than PAL games.

My console region is NTSC-U and I can download images for PAL games but it fails to download any images for NTSC-U games. When trying to download non PAL covers, it only downloads a 411 byte png file which is way too small and doesnt display.

I can manually download the images to the covers dir and they display properly.

Running cfg20.

THanks for any help you can provide.

Further investigation: setting cover_url path to NTSC and then attempting to download the covers for NTSC games worked but not for PAL games. Setting region to PAL and then downloading PAL covers worked. Any way to fix it so it downloads the covers correctly for both NTSC and PAL games on the same console? Seems like it defaults to PAL covers.

Thanks!

Can you tell me the game ID's of your ntsc games with failed covers?
Also, can you try with cover_style=3d and let me know if it's any better or not?

Switching to 3d worked. All downloaded properly with the exception of the games that dont have a 3d image available.

Yes, if the region can't be guessed from the Game ID then pal is the default, that is why I'm asking if you can tell me the Game ID of the problematic covers.

I will probably add some code to re-check with ntsc if fails with pal

Every NTSC game failed to download without setting cover url path to ntsc region. I have over 30 NTSC games and all of them didnt work. Seems like a global problem and not a specific game problem. Still need the list? If so, I can exctract a list.

Not sure this effects anything but I do force NTSC video mode.

I'll use 3d for now since that seems to work just fine!

Thanks!

It's enough if you tell me the ID of 1 game or 2.
I need to know what is the 4th letter in the ID, is it 'E' ?
Because basing on that the region is selected.
Oh and force NTSC has no effect on covers.

Hi all, is the number of games installed in the HDD limited with this loader ?

I saw that you are based on usb loader 1.5 but is it possible to use it with CIOS rev 9 ?

i don't think that any loader limits game's installation, at least i've never heard of.
you can install games as long as you have room on your device.

as for cIOSrev9/10, i guess that you can use rev9 if you're not going to use the sdhc as a device (run your games off your sdcard).
on the contrary, rev10 is mandatory.
i still advise you to switch to rev10 though.

Migrated today from "Ultimate USBLoader v7.41" to "CFG USBLoader v20".

It's great, need some tweaks here and there though (to suit my personal taste).

On the topic of the USB Iso loader, I discovered that it seems to be limited at 170 games to list in its interface. So I wanted to know if this loader has this limitation in its interface.

On some topics, rev10 seems not to be perfect so I am not sure to want to use the rev10 now. Perhaps I will but ... I need time and to read more about !

No need to repost, I still manage to read all posts here, as it's not so high volume as some other threads used to be

I'll add that in next release

Any chance of an option to set how many games the cursor jumps when using instead of just jumping to the top / bottom.

I don't think it's limited, i need to check.

This loader should work fine with cios 9, if you only want to run games from usb.
If you want to run games from SD you need cios 10.

Do you not need cIOS rev10 for teh covers to be working, or have you made a workaround in CFG Loader?

@oggzee:

When you use a white console background, if you start the loader the console background is black until the gamelist is loaded. Adding a Con_Clear() in the Con_Init method fix it:

video.c
Code:
void Con_Init(u32 x, u32 y, u32 w, u32 h)
{
ÂÂÂÂ/* Create console in the framebuffer */
ÂÂÂÂCON_InitEx(vmode, x, y, w, h);
ÂÂÂÂCon_Clear();
}
Please add it in a future release. Thanks ...

Happy to hear this because I was surprised that the USB Iso loader has such a limitation. I don't have 170 games and even it is difficult to play with all games, a wbfs HDD is a good way to store games. I am sure that some persons have more than 170 games as collectors guys for example.

I just tested the CFG loader with rev9 and it works fine. The loading of covers works fine even if it didn't find all of them automatically.

Yes, cfg loader has a work-around, so that it works with both cios 9 and 10 revisions.
