For the graphic hack, what just left is the menu on the upper screen right? I'm thinking that since this game is menu is pretty much the same with TMGS, maybe we could use "something" from them?

edit: Just finished the "Manaka mail" section. The original translated script was okay from the beginning. There's not much change needed.

I don't see why anyone would want to use a machine translation.
Even if the 3DS is coming out soon with the new one, not everyone will be able to get a 3DS, so they'll still be depending on this translation.

I don't see how 3DS has anything with translation for this game, or more like translation for any ds games in general. I just wish people who stop bring this up already.

As for using machine translation... I will just tell you to go and try translating a huge block of text using machine translation and see the result yourself.

Off topic: Even if I were to buy the 3DS when it's out in North America, there is hardly any game that is worth getting at that time.

Distributing roms is forbidden and illegal. You will have to get a clean rom and apply the patch yourself.
Also you might take a look at a newer Wood version, 1.24 is the most recent.

I'm working on some of the mails. Is there a convenient way to disable the apostrophe/quotation formatting? Some of the scripts have the wrong one.

Edit: For those like me who didn't know, if you go to Tools > Preferences, you can turn off smart quotes. I think that's what we're supposed to do.

The reason I asked is because I wanted to see if someone saw the same lines and knew their context. I know what they mean, and they didn't seem to fit the mood of the lines for me, but I'm not familiar of their context.
It's hard for me to edit Manaka's General Messages without feeling really happy, and then really bad.

Edit: This is a really good example:

It doesn't make too much sense with my understanding of the phrase.

Edit 2: The scripts switch between !? and ?!. Is there a standard that we'll be using?

Edit 3: The scripts also have an inconsistent usage of symbols. Some of them have [end of sentence]? and some have [end of sentence]. ?. Which one should we use?
As for the "as if" thing, I feel as if [hahaha] most of the cases weren't sarcastic. In general, that seems more like Rinko's thing than Manaka's anyhow.

Scanned through all of the mails except for the Manaka General Messages.

Hm... I have to agree with you on that. But in some context, the phrase "as if" does seem to make sense if the person saying it is being sarcastic.

"As if" is from the Japanese part ???? (nan-te). Which can mean many things. Mostly, when Manaka says it, it kinds of soften the tone of what she says. Sometimes, it means a joke, sometimes it shows sarcasm, or sometimes she says it just to hide her embarrassment.
(It's been translated as "As if", "Sort of", "Yeah right", "Yeah...", "I guess" etc.)

It's kind of like, "I love you. I can't live my life without you... As if..." or "I love you. I can't live my life without you... Sort of..."

The ending part will make the previous part sounds less serious. If you can think of some words that fit the situation, please suggest.
