Some explanation before the installation.
An IOS is something that the Nintendo Wii and the Wii games use to run games, the system and the modules (bluetooth, wifi, ecc). As you can see from your
A custom IOS aka cIOS is a modified IOS that allows to use not only the original features of an IOS but to load backups (from USB) too.
The cIOSes are based on original IOSes, and games run on different IOSes, so we uses to install the same cIOS (but created with a different original base) on multiple slots to have near 100% compatibility with the games.
Most of them work with IOS 56 and only a few of them work with IOS 57 and 37, so we will install a based 56 cIOS on slot 249 (this is the default slot for cIOS in homebrew and game loading, is for this reason that as you saw using some homebrew they are default on 249) to load the 95% of the games, and a based 57 and 37 cIOS on slot 250 and 251.

First of all download the d2x cIOS installer from here https://sites.google.com/site/compl...d2x-cIOS-Installer-Wii.zip?attredirects=0&d=1

Then extract it and place the eight folder on your sd/apps, boot it trough hbc.
Once on the installer, press any button to continue after the disclaimer.
Press right on the dpad until you select "v10 beta 52" on the first line.
Using down on the d pad, move to the second line and select 56 as cIOS base
Use the default 249 as cIOS slot in the third line
Use the default 21010 as cIOS revision in the fourth line
Press Home to add this to the cIOS batch installing and you will see a green confirmation line.
Now some values should have changed.
They should be from the first to the fourth line: v10beta52, 57, 250, 21010, press home to add to batch. The green confirmation line will appear.
Now the values should have changed again: change the cIOS base to 37 to have, from the first to the fourth line: v10beta52, 37, 251, 21010, press Home to add to batch, the green cpnfirmation line will appear.
Now press A button to continue, and a cIOS slot map will appear, press again A to begin the installation.
Wait with patience, because it can take a while: the IOS must be downloaded from Nintendo servers, then patched and only in the end installed.
When the installation is finisched you will be ready to load wii and gamecube games from an USB drive, i will explain how to use them when you will have finisched with this step.

Ok. Did all that. Went smoothly. Ended on the log screen and it says "installed cIOS: non" and at the bottom "Current IOS: 58 v6176"

Everything is perfect. Now you need an usb hard drive ora an usb flash memory to store games both wii and gamecube games. Once tou get one i will tell you how to use Usb Loader Gx (a wii game loader from usb devices) and Nintendont (a Gamecube loader from usb devices).
I have an 8GB flash drive handy, will that do for starters?

Yes but it has only a few space for storage. Wii games are 4,7 gb (they can be reduced deleting the garbage data and maybe you can put 2 of them in the flash drive) and gc games are 1,35 gb.
I think that it can be useful if u want to learn how to use the loaders, and then you can upgrade to a bigger flash drive when you will want to store more games.

I will write something about the loaders tonight or tomorrow morning

Yes brilliant, I can just play about with 1 of each and then get an external HD. If I know how to do it I can take it all from there.

I think I may have found what is wrong with the wads. I still have issues with some of the games not loading from the SD. When I use thr program that you gave me to delete them, some of them are named, and others are just numbered. It seems like the named ones work on the card, but the numbered ones do not. Strange, as they work on the wii console.

If they aren't numbered probably something is wrong with them. If the name is not showed it means that the hdeleting homebrew can't read the infos into the installed wads.
Maybe you have downloaded some wads that were modified/edited in some way, is not uncommon.
Near the name (in your case the numbers) you should see a code of four letters: this is the title id of the game/channel (for example for the homebrew channel is LULZ).
Can you post here the title idS of the games that don't want to boot up from SD?

OK. So I just installed 3 of the WAD files that I have to the Wii and transferred them to the SD card. They all didn't load, so I tried to move them back and it said "may not have moved file" or something like that. I went to the uninstaller that you told me to use and this is the page. Mana, Dragon's curse and Alex Kidd are what I purchased myself directly from the Wii store. The 3 numbered files are what I assume to be the games that I moved back but are not showing (Mario Kart N64, Castlevania NES and Golden Axe VC arcade) WP_20161123_001.jpg

It's weird because i have mk 64 and golden axe too and they work flawlessly from sd card. If these are the only games that doesn't work from the ad menu i think that you can easily keep them on the internal memory withput issues about storage.

Talking about the usb loading, start formatting your flash memory in fat 32.

No, there are a few that don't work. Most of the N64 stuff like Starwing, Mario Kart, Mario 64 don't work, as well as some SNES stuff. But to be honest stuff that didn;t work before does now, around 75% of all that I have, which is enough. I can keep others on the internal mem.

The memory stick is flashed to FAT 32.

Ok first of all you need to download and install usb loader gx and his channel from here https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/ (following the short guide that you will find in the same page). After you do that we will talk about how to put games properly on usb.

Do I need the forwarder?
If you want a channel that needs only few memory blocks (10-15)that can allow you to boot the loader (and then both wii and gc games) from the wii home you should install it (and i recommend it if you plan to play often with the wii), because is very boring and avoids you to boot hbc first and then usb loader gx.

A forwarder is a channel that doesn't contain the usb loader gx inside, is like a link from the wii home menu to the usb/apps/usbloadergx/boot.dol

Advantages:
-It only needs few blocks
-Very quick access to usb loader gx
Because the forwarder has'ntnthe real homebrew inside it, is very easy to install when a new version -of usb loader gx comes out: you don't need tonreplace the channel, just the boot.dol

Disadvantages
-I don't know any of them

I recommend to install it, but if is not a problem for you to access the hbc and then load usb loader gx from there is not mandatory to install the forwarder.

OK, which one, the first link or the vWii one? And do I install it just like I have been doing?

The wii one. vWii means virtual wii, and is the wii backward compatibility mode of the wiiu.
To install the loader you need only to put the extracted folder of usb loader gx inside sd/apps
To install the channel use the uneo forwarder wad that is in the compressed package too and install it trough wad manager.

Do I need to have the USB stick in the system when I load it?

No, because it is loaded from the sd card.
But you need a usb stick connected with at least one game inside (placed with a windows software like wii backuo manager) or usb loader gx will show no games.

Ok. Well I have both things now. Seems to be working fine. I maybe need a Wii or a GC game that I can test it with do you think?

Yes you need a wii game or gc game, i think it's more easy with gamecube.
First of all you need to install Nintendont. (Don't be worried of the many installation, usb loader gx needs nintendont like a plugin, but you will need only to use one spftware to launch both wii and gc games, even if both of them must be present on the sd card)

Create a folder called Nintendont onto your sd/apps, then put inside it this file https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/blob/master/loader/loader.dol after you have renamed it to boot.dol from loader.dol
Also put in the same folders these three files:
https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/blob/master/nintendont/icon.png
https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/blob/master/nintendont/meta.xml
https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/blob/master/nintendont/titles.txt

Then go to usb loader gx,press on the settings button that is placed on the bottom left, go to loader settings, then set gamecube mode to Nintendont.
Go back to custom paths and set this parameters:
Gamecube path to usb1:/games (don't touch if is this is already the default option)
Gamecube Nintendont loader to sd/apps/nintendont (don't touch it if is already the default option).

Then put your game in a subfolder (named with the name that you prefere) of usb/games and rename it to game.iso
Every single game must be under a different folder, and every game in these different folders must named game.iso

Example:

Usb/games/supermariosunshine/game.iso
Usb/games/super_smash_bros/game.iso
Usb/games/imtoolazytoselectafoldernameformetroidprime/game.iso

If the game has two discs (like Resident evil rebirth, mresident evil 0, enter the matrix, mresident evil code veronicq ecc.) You need to put the iso of the second disc in the same folder with the name disc2.iso.

Once you have done that, the games will appear on usb loader gx qnd you cqn boot them.
-snip-
