polite reminder, you don't need to spam a thread to express your dislike, if you think a app/tool/dev is not doing what you want, try condense all your suggestions/critiques into one single post and put forth your point/argument in a well thought-out post ......or just ignore the thread and if your correct and the app is going nowhere the thread will disappear down the pages soon enough :)

I do understand the sentiments there have been devs that just spam tools that are just forks of other projects with very minor changes, not sure if that's the case here, but people generally sort the wheat from the chaff pretty quickly in those situations

Could also re-open the Tinfoil thread since that app is getting pretty regular commits and fixes

This - Has anyone taken apart the DZ NRO to see if it actually uses OG Tinfoil's code so we can settle this once and for all? I'd do it myself but I don't know anywhere near enough about it.

lmfao at all the trolls. are any of you guys developers, have any of you ever contributed anything to the switch homebrew scene. most of you have not contributed anything other than your own personal opinions. To many people on here feel entitled, I can assure you that you are NOT entitled to any thing what so ever. Developers do not have to release anything, you are NOT entitled to their work. Finished, unfinished, bugs, glitches, does not matter in the least, developers have the courtesy of making their work public, how about you entitled pricks do developers the courtesy of not feeling entitled.

not feeling entitled? even gbatemp staff feel entitled to everything. It’s cool though, i’m still waiting for the results of his “investigation”, i won’t hold my breath :)

For now I'll assume mods just missed it and they will remove these posts asap.
Out of context quotes are the best.

Is there a reason why this thread has gotten so off-topic?

The name tinfoil never really clicked with me, so I wouldn't mind seeing it change. It's probably better to leave that name with Adubbz.

For a name reminiscent of the original, why not OpenFoil? If you wish for something different, perhaps InstaJoy could work. I'm not exactly good with names, but anything to get this thread back on topic.

Goldleaf sounds a bit too much like the leaf from Super Mario 3D Land.
Never the less, I suggest implementing it in a previous project.

Else if you really need a name, since it seem to be popular with French words in the homebrew scene: Avancez (it means forward, progress in French)

I still don't understand why the need to look for a name, when there's already one: nspower is a title manager, and already has a good name..., why make two projects from the same author with the same purpose?
why still looking when it's already found?

why wanting to keep "foil" reference? or metal reference?
I understand the name comes from one of the method to enter RCM (tinfoil method), but doesn't really reflect what it's doing (installing and managing titles, as tinfoil is referencing to a RCM thing)
so, why trying to keep a name based on RCM (trombone, paperclip, aluminum, metal reference, foil, leaf, etc.) instead of what it really does (title manager).

well, that's not my call, but I find the RCM reference and most suggested names to keep that reference out of place. I always found "tinfoil" name stupid for a title manager, but again, that's my own opinion and nobody should care. I find this a good opportunity to change the name completely to something more relevant or completely different than RCM or old tinfoil reference. I agree "nspower" might not refer to title management either, but it's there and has a strong name for a manager granting power over the system.

that was my rant :P

iirc tinfoil name stands for title info tool, and not reference to the RCM tinfoil method

I'm waxing my poetic a bit, but here are my suggestions on a moment's notice:

1) Celestial NSPhere (You could split it up to either just be Celestial or NSPhere)
Thinking of a continuation of the whole...sky association with Switch naming. Horizon, Atmosphere...the Celestial Sphere is kiiiind of the next step? Like, astronomically speaking.

EDIT: NSPolaris? :P N-SPectrum?

2) Super NSPower (for the "Now you're playing with power--SUPER POWER!" reference)

3) NSPlastic [Wrap]

4) TincaNX/TiNX/Tin-X

5) Comet? Goes back to the first idea. Also, kinda sorta a reference to the 3DS' Rosalina and Luma?

...you can see I gave it my all early.
