You can use fix's iosuhax if you want. Once it is loaded, you can use wupinstaller to install games and also dlc and eshop games with fake tickets, which most tools are able to download from NUS like funkyU or Wii U USB Helper.

okay i did not know this at all !

so i basically have the fw.img and otp on the root of my SD card, in order to get access to the DLC stuff, i have to first load the fw img with the cfw booter app correct?

this allows certain things?

You don't need otp.bin in your sdcard. Anyway, yes, once you load it up with cfw_booter you just get somehow a Wii U on steroids, which is able to install and run fakesigned content, like dlcs and eshop games downloaded from NUS.

awesome, they still need to be region of my console yes? my console is U.S so i have to download USA based dlc/eshop titles yes?
and they are installed through the wupinstaller i assume,

one more thing, if i install them and then if i were to reboot my wii u, i will have to load up cfw booter again in order to get the dlc/eshop titles to work ya?

In order to get region free launch you need to get my version of iosuhax or dimok's version.
Yes, if you shutdown or reboot your console, you will need to run cfw_booter again in order to be able to run dlcs and eshop games and/or our of region titles.

okay amazing, i will give it a try.
thanks for letting me know about the benefit of the fw img /cfw booter, had no clue about it.
i thought for DLC redNAND was a must.

one last thing i would like to ask is, will the dlc on the magical is* site that say e.g MK8 DLC for USB (redNAND) work with this method of cfw booting ?

Yes, they should. The fact that most people state something like "redNAND only" is just spread of misinformation. The minimal and only thing neede to run fakesigned content is to have signature patches enabled, which both iosuhax alone and iosuhax+redNAND already have.

thanks my dude, one thing i forgot was , i have the retail disc of MK8 , will it matter where i would install the DLC of it ? (Usb/Nand).

because i use the disc of it.

It would matter as it would matter if you installed the DLC by downloading it from NUS via the eshop on your Wii U. I don't know how exactly the priority works between USB and sysNAND, so just search for it on official nintendo website.

Of course, installing stuff on sysNAND directly has its bunch of risks, so I would reccomend installing something on USB first and then eventually move the DLC to sysNAND if you prefer to.

oh i see..
hmm, okay lets say i have pokken/splatoon installed on usb some month ago, and i played them both once online and both worked fine.

i have no redNAND, what is the risk of this exactly ?

I noticed something . .

When I active IOSUHAX in my sysNAND and enter system settings and exit it will automatically active IOSUHAX again ..

It's really nice to see the progress of this project move fast .. good job guys :yayu:

In this case there is 0 risk. If it worked fine on USB, it will work fine on sysNAND. The only risk I see is installing some bad title directly on sysNAND, alotugh the worst could be happen should having a damaged title which you can delete via the data management tool of the Wii U.

I messed up some meta files in my haxchi game and it results in a very simple brick....
Why didn't you try the haxchi game before changing system.xml? I don't think there is something you can do via software then. Are you sure haxchi is not starting at all on boot?

That's normal, the settings title does reload the Wii U menu when exiting, and since isouhax is already loaded in memory, it will perform the Wii U menu loading in place of the original firmware.

yeah ::Phoenix:: the wiiu menu is in a loop when i turn on the console

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

oops
If it is in a loop then, you did not set up coldboothax correctly, but haxchi is working. Did you configure haxchi to run the homebrew launcher with some button press?

i mean that the wiiu menu screen before menu actually boots up is stuck so it never displays the splash screen also what is the lowest price for a wiiu

I would not touch this coldboothax unless you know exactly what you are doing!!! and by the sounds of your comments you don't. You will probably come unstuck with a brick and then you will be coming back asking what to do to recover, which you cannot this is why there is a sticky thread saying leave well alone. Do not do it, trust me!

If you are really going to do it and not listen to me make sure:-

1. You have your contenthax installed on systemnand not usb and have standby/quickstart disabled in settings.

2. Double make sure you have your last line in config list as default fw.img> default=fw.img

3. Use Dimoks latest build as cfw.img and compile it yourself. https://github.com/dimok789/iosuhax

4. If your using say PAL Brain Training in your system.xml you would put this line in below and save it. Make sure you make a double copy of your original system.xml and call it syshax.xml to upload that as well with wupserver>

<default_title_id type="hexBinary" length="8">0005000010179C00</default_title_id>

This is the line you need in wupserver to upload your new file>
w.up("system.xml", "/vol/system/config/system.xml")

and change "system.xml" with "syshax.xml" to upload that file.
w.up("syshax.xml", "/vol/system/config/syshax.xml")

Last give the config syshax.xml file admin right permissions in wupserver, if needed>
w.chmod("/vol/system/config/syshax.xml",0x644)

Turn your WiiU off and back on again.

5.. Just make sure you follow step by step.
