Return it, Bro. One of COD's heart lies in the online multiplayer. If that's dominated by hackers than the game is dead.

They aren't hackers, they are cheats pure and simple. And seeing as gaming can technically be counted as a sport they are just as bad as drug taking athletes or teams caught losing for money.

Rookie mistake. COD 4 is easily the most overrated. The one that's lauded the best in most cases is COD 2.

CoD2 is where I started playing CoD and it's by far the best, it went downhill after CoD2.

Sad part is, every online game will have hackers and will have people cheating the hell out of it. It'll never stop. Why? Because companies won't ever introduce anti-cheating measures that actually work. Far be it from them to employ something that kicks you if you're boundary-limit high with a sniper scope on a rapid fire RPG. Nope, that seems legit all right. I took all my Call of Duty games back, never picking one up again. I almost always refuse to play online with most games, BUT I make an exception for Minecraft, in which mods/hacks make the game fun.

companies just dont put the effort into making anti-cheat systems.

if one hacker turns up they will just take their attention to the next game and kindly say to the owners of the fresh new game "fuck off, lazy wanker. just buy the new game or die like the fat communist you are".

I returned COD4, got my money back. I got Unreal Tournament 3 (a game I've been looking for a while now). It's really good, but there's about 30 people online at a time on average. Such a shame, since it's really fun, and it's the only PS3 game to have PC features (officially supported mods, keyboard+mouse support, dedicated servers, etc.).
