Homebrew ClIRC and IRCDS Problems

I tried ClIRC today for bitlbee, but I couldn't get it to do anything after trying to talk to a friend on MSN with it, and it wouldn't connect to any other IRC networks, either.
I didn't like ClIRC, so I tried IRCDS, but I couldn't even get it to connect.

My Wifi connection settings are correct, as I've used these settings with many games, and i'm not sure what's going on as Beup Live worked with the settings as well, even though it was kind of finicky at times.

What should I do? I'd like to try out IRCDS.
