Hacking Cleaning a DS?

As you guys probably know, I got a DS in not too good condition. im wondering how i would clean the colour off this. it was coloured in by what seems to be coloured pencils.

its only the inside that needs cleaning. how would i go about this?

Toothpaste is pretty amazing

. It cleans scratches out of things really well.

I tried getting the scratches off on the top but it didn't work. For the inside I do not now

. A warning though my DS smelled like toothpaste for a week

. Its worth a shot(cover up the speaker holes with something before you clean with anything BTW)

I used white spirit / paint stripper to clean my ds. It evaporates so no need to worry about it getting wet and it cleans very good. smell goes in 24 hours.

i think im going to take apart the DS to clean it as im going to need to anyway to change the screen. would be a safer option

use those face wipes you get from KFC and stuff

not tuff enough id imagine. most of the colour has been removed. its just a light colour now.

Like i said white spirit / paint stripper. It will not damage it i have done it to get the yellow stains off my white ds. Put a bit on a rag and rub. If it is a wax crayon it will dissolve the oils and the wax will just rub off.

yeah i am going to get replacement case. probably a clear Shock! one. but i want to clean this one as best as i can because im thinking of doing a white/black mod on my other DS

That's... probably the most bizarre repair question I've ever seen on here

The internet recommends a damp cloth with a little baking soda or WD-40 to get crayon off of walls, wonder if that would damage the DS's plastic though...?

i still wna clean it for future uses. in case the shock case breaks. heard that they can be dodgey. sigh $50 aus for the cheapest shock case

Well, if you really are determined to clean the case, Turpentine may be your best bet. Its the best solvent I know, but it may erode your case. Don't go with thinner though, that will definitely erode your case

i think i might just spray paint the inside now actually. thats if its not too hard to get the colour off..

Actually, your BEST bet would be to use nail polish remover, it looks like marker. Nail polish remover will take it right off.
