Hacking Class 6 SDHC

I currently have a Kingston 4GB Taiwan

, and it is doing GREAT. At first it was a bit slow, but then I used Panasonic SD Formatter on it and oh boy, did that eliminate all of my problems.

What does the SD Formatter do and is it a freebie? (i'm checking google right now, but i figure an answer here would help others as well

)

Is it compatible with all SD/Micro/Mini/SDHC/etcetc ? Or just panasonic? Or just with the listing on their page? (i just couldn't follow the info on their page, and i'm at work right now, so i cant test the proggie out heh)

It works with all sorts of SD-cards, don't try to format anything else with it.

I bought two of those A-data cards from Newegg and one was DOA. I have to send it back for RMA. Hopefully replacement isn't broken, too. Not a bad deal. I've got some Transcend 4GB on order also from Amazon. I'll see if the quality control is better.

Well, to hell with A-Data. The day after sending in the one defective card, the other card decided to die, too. I'm staying away from that brand, and I'd advise others to do the same. Look at the high failure rate in the comments. Don't think you might get lucky. That's the mentality I had. I still haven't received my 4GB Class 6 Transcend cards, but I went ahead and ordered two more from newegg since amazon is taking forever.

i was in maplins today and they were charging ONE HUNDRED POUNDS for a SanDisk 8gb one.

what th hell? they are crooks!


edit: these are the shop who sell cd wallets for £30 and can only fit 10 cd's, they sell very cheaply made blank dvd's for like £20 and you can get a better brand online for £10 plus more discs lol

That sucks. I have two AData 4GB cards and an AData 2GB card. Had them all for 6-8 months now. I've had zero problems from any of them. I have had two MiJ Kingston 2GB cards die on me though.

I think that most people who have a good experience will not go back and post their feedback. A person who is unsatisfied is much more likely to go post their comments.
