Just saying: all the vulnerabilities are released, so Nintendo can patch these at any time. Developers just have to code the exploit code, and implement it in libkhax/Cakehax/Brahma.

do you guys think more than 1-2 week?
we don't know, honestly. giving an ETA is kind of a bad thing because then I'm pretty sure people will think of it as a release date and complain when it's not here by then.

it's ready when it's ready. simple.

Making developers going too fast will only result in bricks, dirty code and worse. As @ihaveamac says, it's ready when it's ready.
The last time an ETA was given, it was really a bad thing.
No. The exploit is done. Code released. Now it needs to be implemented.
No. The exploit code is not finished. It's being worked on. I'm sure that when Steveice10 will have the memchunkhax2 code finished, he will implement it in libkhax, for further use with FBI.

How can downgrading brick your device? And can it be fixed?

How can downgrading brick your device? And can it be fixed?
Crashing during the process, being shut down during the process, corrupted CIAs, don't installing an older version of an app/sysmodule/NATIVE_FIRM/whatever, etc... So many ways to brick.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I really don't want this to become another Gaitwait that's coming soon™.
That's not going to be, because there is already the actual concept, the exploit, and most of the code.

i think she meant: what can downgrade do to brick? and not how to brick while downgrading?

Wow..I'm not sure I want to downgrade if I risk the chance of messing up my device.

its best to wait to see how others' experiences are before attempting it yourself. wait for a proper tutorial when it comes out, and maybe a couple days after, before you try it.

its worth the wait and downgrading could be worth the risk! worst case... have it hardmodded before attempting the downgrade :)

How to not brick during downloading:
- checking your downgrade files (right region, 3DS/N3DS files, right version, correct MD5s...)
- keeping your 3DS plugged on
- not throwing your 3DS on the wall
- checking the downgrader app MD5
- not powering down your 3DS during the process

well downgrade make you UNINSTALL your current firmware to install an older one so if something goes in the wrong way you might not even just turn on the console.

  • memchunkhax2 is a new kernel11 exploit. This one works on every firmware up to and including 10.3. This allows downgrade (without NAND backup), legit CIA installation, a lot of good stuff (but not direct piracy). This is a new version of memchunkhax that was not properly fixed by Nintendo in 9.3. This works on 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, N3DS and N3DS XL.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO My dreams are gone :(
