Hacking cIOSCORP v3.4 Release!

Disc updates are SystemMenu related, not IOS related, so you'll need something like preloader with hacks.ini, or starfall (if you have SystemMenu 3.2x), or startpatch.

I am planning to make a full wii modding package after cIOSCORP v3.x has been perfected.

what do you mean by "perfected"?
as in 101% compatibility?

If you installed a previous version of cIOScorp, then you probably have less chance of bricking.
But I'm not updating until I can play Metroid Prime Trilogy without using an older version of cIOS. It would be nice to use my cIOScorp to load MPT normally. Then I can give my patched disc to someone who doesn't use cIOScorp and use my unpatched disc for this. And I don't need a Mario Kart Wii fix

Yes. I am already working on Korean wii and disc support, and it's working well.

But what I really mean by perfected is... the perfect DIP module: rev14 + DL support.

If anybody knows how to disassemble and hack IOS modules, please pm me. (I've been messing with IDA Pro, but i'm still new to it)

OK, so I'm not YayMii, but yes it does, only for IOS36 though (SSBB). Also included is an IOS36 with rev14 DIP (MKWii). cIOS36 rev12 (DL support) is in the main package, and so it is installed by default.

So, if you want to play other DL games, you'll have to patch them to run under IOS36.

Wait a minute, so with this then that means it's not neccesary to change the booktype to DVD-ROM when burning Metroid Prime Trilogy as cIOScorp 3.4 can recognize the DVD+R DL?

Well, since you're burning it to a DVD+R DL, you'll need to change the booktype to DVD-ROM anyway, for it to even work on your wii.

Have you burned Dual Layer discs like SSBB before? If so, did your computer automatically booktype it, or did you have to tell it to?

Make sure MP:Trilogy is patched to run under IOS36 before burning, then burn it the same way you would burn SSBB.

I've burned 3 copies (DVD-5 given away to a friend, DVD-9 patched for use until a proper fix is out, and an unpatched DVD-9 for when a full DL cIOScorp fix comes out). I don't want to burn a 4th copy for this version of cIOScorp.

bleh now I need some help with preloader.... I'm trying to install preloader on my 3.2U wii but I cant seem to find a functional hic.exe I only managed to find these 2 files:

and neither of them work for me. The program runs but there is no text where there should be cheats. Can somebody please provide a link or at least confirm that the program in the link doesnt work?

EDIT: Nevermind I figured out what I was doing wrong!

rev14 breaks at the last sector of the 1st layer, and since all DL discs use that sector, DL discs are broken. SL games could be afeected too, but only if they fill the disc completely.

I can't wait to try it once I get home! I had 3.3 just recently installed. I have always been fond of the idea of playing games directly through the disc channel. v3.4 wont hurt. And the only question I had was answered in the initial post. So read up! Do not uninstall 3.3 b4 you install 3.4! Just Install it! Booyah!

FYI the install went Smoothly! No issues at all.

I do have a question about patching a game to use IOS36, what do I use to do this?

I know how to booktype and set the laybreak and all that fun stuff. But yeah just wondering what I use to patch it as IOS36. Thanks in advance!

Waninkoko's IOS Patcher v1.1 can be found in the download section.

Just drag the ISO onto the .exe and it will tell you the IOS version it is using and you can type in a new version which is 36.

Had to use it too make Sonic and the black knight too work patchedit too run on IOS 55 and then I didnt get anymore error 002 with the game

I'm on 3.2U as well and haven't had time to install this yet, but I would say if if it isn't broke, don't fix it bud.

If you did wish to test for whatever the reason you could install this over any version of cIOSCORP no problem.

ive done so strait up through and kept V1 i have beatles rockband,guitar hero 5 and all my others booting well hermes loader actually seems to do the BEST job so far even if there are better looking gui loaders this 222/223 seems to pwn the rest if you set it up right....Also why is it CIOS rev11 worked so much better more stable than any of these new revs with loaders like Usb Loader GX i actually get BETTER compatibility for ios249 on 3.2 if im on rev 11? idunno maybe its just me...But it sure seems like that...(all be it ive patched lil cios fixes here and there.. when need be its very little to have to do to be blessed with such freedom

What about using Hermes' cIOS for cIOScorp? Does it have DL support or proper 001/002 protection? I haven't tried Hermes' cIOS, so I don't know how it compares to Waninkoko's cIOS.

Hmm, is this guaranteed to work with GH5 (On a USB Loader)? I won't have to install any of that cIOS222 crap then? I installed v3.3 and ran the installer to install cIOS56 with the Rev14 DIP. It didn't work previously, so will this?
