You should do the ios reload before WPAD initting.. If you reload ios after initting wiimotes they lose sync... Could this be the case it fails?
Try yourself, but not, the first line is ios_reload

I'm contact with kwiirk and he is trying to fix it.

The usb speed without read ahead cache in libfat is about 2200kb/s but with cache I get about 27000kb/s so kwiirk has implemented usb2.0 correctly

nicksasa, are you sure that you have compiled mplayerwii 0.7 with usb 2.0? I think that you are wrong.

instead of going the ISO route, what would be the problem of extracting the games and launching them from their respective folders much in the way that the original xbox mods were done?
The games would still need a patch. Did you try extracting a game to your SC card and launching it with the HBC? It doesn't work because the game wants to read from DVD and not SD/HDD. Xbox games are different.
QUOTE(Q-Bert @ Mar 10 2009, 09:55 PM) the fact that the Wii has less power than the Xbox so if it did get a straight port it would be slow so things would need to be removed to get a good performance from it.
XBOX:
733MHz CPU
64MB RAM
Gefroce 3/4 GPU
Wii:
729MHz CPU
88MB RAM

I understand that they would still need patched, all i was getting at was it would seem easier (and i'm probably wrong) to patch the game over creating an iso loader. however since an iso loader has basically been created with the flatmii i have a feeling one of the two will come sooner or later.

on a side note i can see the developers not going the route of a game loader for one reason, if the games had to be patched to run it would create a whole secondary pirate scene with far too many versions of any given game, very much like the first softloaders had to be patched then those games went bye bye real soon afterwards.

yeah i did and it worked ..
but the ios reload must be on exact the same spot

it must be like this in template.c

IOS_ReloadIOS(202);
WIIDVD_Init();
VIDEO_Init();
WPAD_Init();

then it works for me

Posts merged

and thats for mplayer-wii latest svn i couldnt get mplayer-ce to compile

No nicksasa, you are wrong, probably you don't added usbstorage_starlet.c to the project so you are using usb 1.1
Check speed caching, probably is the same that without ios
I created last svn mplayerwii so I know what I'm speaking about
If usb2.0 is working then you can't see caching, it's instant, I've tested calling directly to watch a film without menu using 2.0 because wiimote is not synced.

So, does thsi mean I could run a Wii game from a USB stick? Or a emulator from there?

Sweet, that means I could run a patched game from my 4gb usb.

EDIT: Would it be able to load the game data fast enough, or is this just a possibility.

why is this not possible, all we need is a usb male to male connector to connect the wii to the pc.

I'll stop you there and let you know if you hook your PC to your Wii with that cable you may end up with :

Dead USB Ports on the PC
Dead Motherboard on the PC
Dead USB Ports on the Wii
Dead Wii
Burning cable.
Any combination of the above.
All of the above.

I'll bite. Why?

Cos you'll be linking the 5v rails from each device together. There's a reason they produce special USB data transfer cables and why most shops don't even sell a USB A-A cable.

The data transfer cables are often just two USB Ethernet adapters linked together.
