I think this is also important, Page was edited over the day:

For the moment this driver is EHCI only. This means only usb2 devices would work. I actually only tested hard-drive and sdcard reader (my USBkey wont work). So forget keyboard, mices, and other USB1.1 toys for the moment. Bluetooth keyboards/mouses might work independently. It would not be so difficult to connect a OHCI driver once it is done to get that usb1.1 support. Grub2 implements a small OHCI driver which could do the job (dont wait for me to do it, all source code is GPL)

The lack of a real usb stack means the driver also lacks hub support. Anyway, the USB2 hubs "TT" mechanism is a bit complicated, and would need a lot more work.

The driver doesn't implement the scheduled pipes, ie interrupt and isochronous pipes, which would be needed for highend webcams (I cannot think of other usb2 devices type that uses such pipes.)
WiiBrew

Well, it's a Beta, so I expected something like that. Still very impressive

. Can't wait to see how this will grow so much when BootMii is out...whoho

@nicksasa: Speaking of which apps? Sorry, but I'm a impatient person
tongue.gif
. The only ones that makes senses for me are the Media Players (DMP, GeeXboX, MPlayerWii, MPlayer-CE, etc..). Anyways, a good idea

probably a noob question but whats USB 2.0?

Sorry, I always wanted to post such a pic

. Simply translation: USB 2.0 is much faster than USB 1.1, which currently the Wii has. So it brings massive Speed Improvements, Opens way for new USB-Things (Webcams, etc...) and other things for the Homebrew-Developers.

@nicksasa : Thank's for this, didn't try it yet. But how could this be faster than 1.1, because the 1.1 reach the 12Mb/s whereas this one can read at 4Mb/s maximum ?

Man that's impressive.
I leave the board for one night and come back to see USB2 support alongside with cIOS36rev8...
That's a hell of a good news, we gonna have full fast support for Emulators, MediaPlayers and not talking about a softversion of the FlatMii.
I have a 255g ide hd laying around along with an external hd case, guess it will come in handy really soon.

Read speed for backups: 10.55 Mbit/s
1.1 USB: 12 Mbit/s
2.0 USB: 480 Mbit/s

It wouldn't make a difference to put USB 2 in DVD Dumper

WAD Manger I think... It haves USB 1.1 at the moment, right?

DVD Dumper for sure...
tongue.gif
(Oh, never mind. reading post above me...)

A Nand dumper with USB 2.0
biggrin.gif

But next to that... I think Nintendo will have a horrible pain... if...
Someone release FlatUSBMii as a Homebrew Application. Oh noes... (Run ISO's from USB >.< who said it never was possible?
tongue.gif
Just like that softmod thing ) Poor Ninty... I don't hope that will happen...

Or this leads to run unpacked wads from USB via a homebrew app / whole custom IOS/FW whatever it will get called...

Well, doesn't realy surprise me...DragonMinded always had a special way of coding...reason why it's hard to make a new DSOrganise...it's sad, but I can live with that.
wink.gif
Many Thanks for taking time for this
smile.gif
. New request for all the people that asked:

MPlayer-CE!!!! This would be awesome if it would be possibe. Like I said before, I'm too impatient to wait until the Team does this...
