Every game I install via CIA using FBI, when I try to launch it, I need to input a parental PIN code, even for kid's games.

I can't turn off parental controls due to the Nintendo ID linked with the 3DS being a child's account, it won't let me.

Is there any way round this? It's a pain when my 10 year old son goes to launch a game, he'd need my parental PIN code every time.

my brother has the same problem. so far, the only solution is to format the system and unlink the NNID

Thanks, this doesn't help though - this just gets you the master key to reset your PIN. I know the PIN, my problem is that, even though all parental settings are set to "Do Not Restrict", every game installed via FBI requires the PIN code, and I can't completely disable parental settings as the 3DS Nintendo ID is linked to child's account

Just use freeShop

easiest way is to downgrade system settings (preferably to 6.x), remove parental controls then, and update. downgrading this far will allow you to remove them regardless of the linked NNID.

What would the steps be to do this? Is it safe? Thanks!
you need to find a 6.x system settings (mset) cia for your region somewhere online. 4.x should work as well. install it (preferably with FBI 2.x), then use system settings and remove parental controls. go to system update to re-update the application.

Simple as that? Great!

So I've found a 6.x firmware CIA for my region.

My New 3DS was on 11.2.0.35 and I followed 3ds.guide all the way through, so have Luma CFW, A9LH, FBI, etc. I have a 128GB microSD with plenty games, etc on it.

So if I just install this 6.x firmware via FBI, remove Parental Controls, then go back into System > Update and update to 11.2.0.35 again, all my games and CFW will be intact?

yes, only one thing is downgraded and updated anyway

ONLY install system settings, nothing else.
