To begin with, until 2003, I've never EVER heard of Chrono trigger. Most kids in Korea usually only played some free MMOs, shooters, and arcade games, and I was one of them.

The consoles don't do so well in Korea, usually. However, DS, and the Ps2 did fairly well. The DS sold more than a million in its first year of the release of the DS, and the PS2, well, I cannot say.

Due to that, I will play this for sure when it comes out, no matter what kind of graphics it will use, as long as it's good as the original, I'll play it, and see it's legacy.

I hope this game doesn't sell well. From what I can tell so far this won't be a full blown remake, but just a mere port. If this sells well, and it's almost identical to the original, then that just proves to Square Enix that you can make a quick buck off of uninspired garbage. Throw in a few useless features and fans will think that their purchase is justified. Why not make a new 2D chrono game for the DS? Why not come up with original ideas? Because tools will throw money at them for a game that came out 13 years ago.

They attempted to my a direct sequel but the original team couldn't get together so they abandoned the project. It was coined "Chrono Brake(Break in US)" .

Personally, I really hope they don't completely remake(and make it all 3D chibi like the FF) this game, it was fine as it was when it first came out -- many people, like me, will feel like they bastardized it if they changed it in anyway.

'Why not come up with original ideas?'

Why not let people that weren't born in the SNES era play one of the best games during that time? Answer that question (sure they could always pirate, but not everyone steals games you know).

It was fine as it was when it first came out, so why release it again? There are multiple ways for someone to play the original... buying the original cart (expensive), buying the ps1 remake (not expensive and accessible because you can play it on Ps1, Ps2, and Ps3), borrowing the original cart from a friend, or emulating if you do happen to pirate (which a lot of people do anyways).

yeah.....

I dont care about this game although i tried to play the SNES version before.. Only got to the part where the blonde lady gets transported somewhere in time.

Another port, hmm, well im guessing the menu will be at the touch screen and touch the buttons for quick access.. Also, maybe most spells and attacks will have 3D or extra graphical effects like what they did to FFTA2.

Seeing as I've nevered played the SNES version as I was 6 years old then I think, and my friend didn't have it, I am very excited to play this on DS.

Also, you spelled it wrong @ topic title

FYI It could just be screencaps from the original to show people what CT is.

Needs a translation.

i care. it's a great game and the original 2d art is beautiful. so i'm totally fine even if it's just a port.
as the SNES version was never released in europe i will buy this one instead. better late than never

Yeah, given the fact the original game was a commercial disaster selling only 2.5 million copies, I'm preeeetty sure it will bomb.

And to those complaining it's not a remake and blah blah blah: hold your horses. CT has aged better than 90% of Snes games, and its awesome 2D art is better than a weak 3D (given the DS' capabilities) remake that wouldn't hold the same charm of the original. This rerelease is just a test to see how does the franchise goes commercially nowadays. It case it goes well, it might be pulled out of the closet once again.

There were only two choices: either we've gotten the CT port, or no Chrono at all. Stop being so negative and try looking at the brighter side of things instead of just ranting endlessly.

For everyone who says its better they did not change the Gfx, why do you not say the same thing about the FF series, i will tell you why, you are blinded by fanboyism, dont worry i have had it to before.
